you're joking me right Justin Faulk from the Carolina hurricanes ?
You're telling me will get Justin Faulk plus more for just the eighth overall pick
Tim Murray should get fired if he passed on that wtf ... - GERBE!!!75PTS
I can see why he hasn't pulled the trigger yet if true considering the possibility of trading up but if we were to stay at 8 for whatever reason and not trade the pick for Faulk+ I'd be shaking my head and asking questions. |

Wasn't 89 talking about Faulk a few weeks ago? Maybe there is some truth to this... |

I would rather move it for Faulk, We need defense. If it is indeed true, (not discrediting the source) but i cant believe it is. Murray should be removed from his position if true.
I also woke up this morning with the Feeling Lucic will be a Sabre. |

True or not, people will grasp it as if it is and there were no other moving pieces and use it as some way to bash Murray in the future...yippeee |

So, honestly asking the question about Faulk...is he the missing link, or one of for the Sabres D? Asking because he is 1) about a -15 to -20 player each year, 2) he a righty? So theoretically, it leaves a hole on the top pair still, unless he can switch sides...and allows 15 more points than he contributes.
I get that he is a ~50 point producer ... So trying to rationalize it in my head.
Does that mean GMTM can then package one of Bogosian/Pysyk and one of Girgensons/Ennis to then find Jack's left side winger? |

IMO, people make this a bigger issue than it needs to be. Get the best 6 you can. D-men play both sides of the ice during the entirety of the game anyways.
Carolina is very bad, Granted he should be helping that some if he is "That good" but they are kind of like Buffalo where you can only expect one person to do so much.
That said, him for 8 I would do all day. |

Word is that Florida is gonna be trying to or at least listen to offers on trading Bjugstad and Kulikov.
I don't know a ton about Kulikov defensively but his offensive numbers are nothing to write home about.
Bjugstad could be a REALLY nice 3C or piece to add to this puzzle of a team. At 6'6 and 220 lbs and pots high teens to low 20s in goals. If he could play wing too it would be that much better. Don't know a ton about him though. |

Yeah I don't know where that came from, He wasn't the best defenseman in the world last year, so even though he is young and should progress, trade him, he stinks.
Look at his Assists given up to games played of seconds on ice with Guys who use rubber stick tape vs regular stick tape numbers.
Not good, that's all I can say. - ImThatGuy

It is hard to believe we are finally going to be seeing additions to the roster again this week. It has hard to believe that we really haven't added anything since opening night last year. Should be fun. - Slump Buster
Remember that one time back in 2010 when the team made a big deal about signing Shaone Morrisonn, Jordan Leopold and Rob (frank)in Niedermayer? |

Nah, I don't do spoilers, but it was a hell of an episode. Realize it's the 2nd last one of the season and you should know it'll be intense.
What sucks is we'll be away from our chances to watch the finale next week.. |

I don't buy the he wants to come home crap... If he ends up in Toronto it's because they offer him more money then anyone else. We don't even know for sure if Murray will go after Stamkos. I suspect we'll find out Tuesday (Murray's presser) that he will give some spiel about not expecting the Sabres to do much in FA and that they will look for trades and ways to improve the team. - bluengold12
9 out of 10 times the most money gets it done, its just business to them. Sure if the money is close and he can go to a cup contender, he will but this will all come down to money.

via TSN:
The Oilers could target right-handed shot Zach Bogosian of the Buffalo Sabres, but Matheson believes his $5.14 million cap hit is too high for the Oilers. Still, the Sun believes the two teams could become trade partners ahead of Friday’s NHL Draft as the Sabres covet London Knights forward Matthew Tkachuk, who likely won’t be available at the Sabres current spot (eighth overall).
Matheson suggests the Sabres could trade Tyler Ennis, Zemgus Girgensons and/or defenceman Mark Pysyk along with the No. 8 pick to move into the Oilers’ fourth slot.
Coveting Tkachuk is great but I would prefer to covet Ennis, Girgensons, Pysyk, Bogosian and whoever we would pick at 8 more |

If the cost is Ennis, and Zemgus or Pysyk plus #8 to move to #4. I would be okay with that honestly.
I think that Zemgus or Larsson will be gone. They are basically the exact same player and Buffalo resigning Larsson like within a week of the season ending showed what their priority was.
Pysyk is okay but he was passed by McCabe and now perhaps Guhle and Nelson are viewed as replacements for him if his trade value is high.
Ennis at 4.6M is just a big unknown... how bad is the head injury? Is his speed perfect for Eichel's wing? Will he be a 20 goal scorer again?
however.... I think I'd take Tkachuk over Ennis on this team and Eichel's wing every day and twice on Sundays especially with Ennis's 4.6M cap hit for 3 more years.

It's says Ennis, 8, Girgs and/or Pysyk.
So one of three options at least how I read it.
Ennis, 8, and Girgs

Moving Ennis clears future space
It gives them more cash to go after Stamkos and/or Yandle.
It allows them not to have to pay Girgs his demand of 4 mil per.
Pick 8 just like any other pick is a roll of the dice.
It clears contract space
It makes it easier on whom to protect. |
