Also, I really wish Kane would work on his shot during the offseason. He has the power, but awful accuracy. He's so frustrating because he has all the tools to be a premier power forward and simply can't finish enough.

I think the Sabres need to realize the mere fact that they have money, doesn't mean they need to spend it.

If they cannot sign Yandle or Stamkos, they are better off sitting on their space, or trading for Datsyuk's contacts.

I hope he makes some FA moves for the bottom six. I really would love to see Trevor Lewis in a Sabres uniform.

I have no problem with short contracts this year. Always trade-able as well.

Gionta and Franson coming off the books after this season is almost 8M.

I'd be okay with Okposo for 4 years that's about it and nothing more than $5.5 a year since you're getting him for "free". But that's only if you miss out on Stamkos and Yandle.

Eriksson had a very quiet great year in Boston. I would be okay with him but 3-4 years max and nothing more than $6 million. Again not my first option of course.

If the Sabres miss out on Stamkos I would rather pursue the trade route first than to overpay Okposo or Eriksson
