I read JB as Brouwer sounds likely but Eriksson is a target depending on term.
Okposo could be in the mix also.
Also see him driving up the price for 5OA or making the pick & waiting for a team to get off the snide if serious. Either way i like his style going into the draft. - Nighthawk
You think the Canucks are high on any free agents list? Nice city, and I'm sure money talks, but why other incentive is there? |

Holypoop man, shoulda, coulda, woulda...1st off it wasn't Miller vs Lack it was Markstrom vs Lack and I'd take Markstrom any day over the two.
We finally have a Gm that knows how to draft and yet some people can't stop the hate from getting their facts straight.
BTW...hello from Hecla Island Resort Manitoba, 6 more sleeps and I'm back on the best coast.. - Makita

Ya. Eriksson is the logical perfect fit. Except wouldn't he wanna go to a contender? That's the thing. We may be looking for another Vrbata signing. Whoever that is. Cause of course I didn't research anything.
I don't want to overpay for a Brouwer. But perhaps a guy that has won a Cup already, would look to playing in his hometown for a tad less than elsewhere.
The ultimate best case (dream) scenario is Eriksson chooses VAN anyway. Brouwer realizes he can't hit a home run, so signs a 1 year deal here. We then flip him at TDL.
Just a dream. |

Settle down, Jabroni, of course it isn't Edmonton...but it's not like Edmonton ,or poopty Buffalo for that matter, are the only other options.
I'm just curious on what the selling point is right now. I'm not poopting on the Canucks, and forgive my ignorance, but what's the team's current identity? Team full of young burgeoning talent, old team on the decline, team gearing up for a serious push, team getting ready for a full rebuild? What's going on? |

i'd go to Edmonton. team on the rise, definitely when it comes to young talent that would be a top choice. (frank)ing hate the Oilers though |

I'd play on a team with Connor McDavid and others. A brand new arena.. Get a cup and get out. Your on the road alot. You don't live in EDM in offseason.
I'll have my agent contact PC. |

Fair enough, but this has nothing to do with Edmonton. Nucks fans go on the offensive when they get asked what really isn't that tough a question. |

That hasn't really helped Edmonton much yet. We did get Sekeras who was probably the best of a weak crop of UFA D last year mind you. |

JB is filling the void left by previous regime. Thats players in their early to mid 20's.
Baer and Guddy come to mind.
Canucks will never really be able to fully rebuild and tank with Sedins here. But, with all the injuries last year they pretty much did. Fortunately it looks like JB has drafted well. Although time will still tell.
People can laugh, but I'm sure the plan is to be contending in the next 2 to 4 years. Hoping"""" that players like Boeser and Dubois/Tkachuk arrive. Horvat, Virtanen Hutton etc gaining more experience.... and Sedins slowly being pushed to a secondary role.
One thing is for sure. JB hasn't been trading youth and picks for fossils. Just other young players that are a bit older.

PC should be able to get a dman. Injuries also killed you guys last year as well. Personally I'd move Nuge for a D. Plus the option of moving the 4th. Things could* turn around in EDM.
Intersting to see how Caggulia does. Klefbom is a stud. Nurse still waiting on I think. |

What do you expect when you ask a troll question like that? Clarkson David come here all the time and asks things. He never gets ripped.
When you ask a butthole question like what does your team have to offer, how do you think they are going to respond???
There are lots of things to come here for , first and foremost money. An Oiler fan should be well aware of that feature. |

That's what I asked my observant friend, aside from money and a nice town, what's the selling point. You can't take it as a jab all you want, but the question wa legit.
What's the selling point to UFA's from a hockey perspective? |

I could see contending for the playoffs in 2-4 years but not contending for the cup. Anyone's guess what happens in 3-6 years time tho.

It's pretty much like any town not like Edmonton or Winnipeg. Fans just think people will want to sign there, and take a discount. At least in the aforementioned cities most fans realize that unless greatness is pending or the money is absurd they'd rather take a job elsewhere in a completely different industry. |
