There is just no shot this happens. But if it does well holy poop. I hope The Old Man never retires. - Victoro311
No doubt. Make that trade, sign backup goalie, and get Vesey to sign and build JR his own statue. |

Shinkaruk would fit into the Pens system perfectly. - cap1681
That is a poop deal for the pens. |

I don't think that trade helps us at all. - Victoro311
You give up an injured prospect and your back up for the 6th overall and a more offensive Shultz ...I don't see how it doesn't help you |

Thinking that Andersen isn't good doesn't make Fleury any better of a fit for Toronto. - Victoro311
Fleury wasn't a go fit for Toronto. Its not guaranteed their best cup chances will be in Fleury's prime. Don't love the term they gave Anderson, but not sure they had another choice besides sucking for another year and then finding a better fit next year.
If their was a contender in need of a goalie then Fleury would the best choice. If someone like Crawford got a career ending injury and was going LTIR then Fleury would have a much better value. |

Why. A high end LW prospect who is ready now? The Pens get more depth in their forward position and 5M in cap space. Shinkaruk is an A prospect who's playing style fit perfectly with the Pens system. He would be Crosby's LW for the forseeable future, and thrive there. |

That guy has done nothing but disappoint. I wouldn't say he is high end in the slightest. I've watched him in Vancouver/utica and seen nothing to impress. That's not to say his potential and career are over but I would not trade Fleury for him. |

Don't try to talk up Wideman. That won't work here. He's a cap dump that offsets any potential cap savings from dealing Fleury. I don't care if he's expiring, he's not good.
Whoever we get with the 6th pick is probably as NHL ready as Sprong is, so that's pretty lateral.
So that deal in a nut shell is us getting nothing for Fleury, exchanging one pretty sure bet for another, and giving up a 4th. No thanks. I'd rather just take a second for Fleury |

Seriously wideman is probably better than Shultz ... |

He was in the top 10 in goal scoring last year in the AHL, and played a total of 8 games in the NHL over his career. Kid is talented. |

If Tkachuck is available at 6 I would like the trade. Depends whose there at 6 in my opinion. |

I would prefer lottery tickets of 2 2nds over him. He doesn't stand out to me over the guys we already have in our system. 2 2nds could be a bust or you could hit on a top 4 D/top 6 winger. |

I know he had lots of promise and the nucks were excited they got him when they did. He was dumped pretty early and to me that is a telling sign. I would consider another prospect trade but would not trade MAF for him. It's just got huge potential of a fail trade. The teams don't even know the expansion rules yet. |

Stop. It's not rocket science here. If we are dealing MAF, we need cap room. So, your answer is sending a guy making 5.25 million our way, even if its for one year that at best is a third D pairing guy. Pass.

It depends on how you view Sprong. I actually would do that. I don't view Sprong as highly as most because I see his flaws. Wideman sucks ass and his cost is terrible for a third D pair guy, maybe here. However, he would be off the books in a year and 6th overall pick >>>>> Sprong IMO. |

I'm high on Schultz as well. Would love to see him back.
We should go after Killorn - Barnaby36
I would love Killorn. We can't get him though. |

I hope you are being sarcastic with your values on players. If not, you need help.
