(frank)ing called Andersen to the Leafs. That's huge for us. Calgary now has limited options.
- Victoro311

Babcock saw my post yesterday & liked my logic - he just mistook the name that's all! It was (frank)ing Flower Babs NOT Anderson you peanut! (frank)!

People people people.... Mostly the people who want a first for Flower. I get Anderson got a first, barely.... But be real. That 30th pick isn't a valued pick. We ALL know by now that halfway through the first this picks chances of making it fall off hard. Anderson was traded for 2 2nds, not a first and a second.

So, isn't there collusion rules or something that doesn't let non signed players - ie: players from other teams, talking to other teams? The managers of players can't go & speak to whoever they want? It would appear in this case that the Leafs & Anderson were already happy to sign a contract ASAP? Was that contract already agreed to before the trade? Wouldn't that be 'illegal' & against the rules??

They could have had a deal in mind right away when the trade happened. Agents might be allowed to talk.... Or he might have told Anaheim what he wanted and they relayed that to Toronto during trade talks.

Hahaha.....

At least we're entertained! Stanley Cup, trades, draft, ufa open season.....this has been one hell of a year so far.

Edit: I'm likely the only one on here that didn't get to watch game six. First time I can remember not watching the Cup awarded. Anyway, once I got back to the yard I watched everything I could get my hands on. Showtime, youtube, and some link that oddly had porn. It was like winning the Cup twice. When it happened in real life, I was driving through the Mojave listening to Pens radio that kept breaking up. Apparently cell towers don't get built in deserts. But it's been a cool and memorable week, happy how it worked out and felt the need to share my experience.

seriously. if you could get a pair of seconds for fleury, that would be 4 seconds in a single draft year.

it sucks not having a first, but it would have been the last one anyway

i get the viability rate for picks, but still. you could do a good bit of injecting some odds into the cupboard right there in a single round.

- stayinthefnnet

Start looking up top defenseman. A lot of them are found in the 2nd round. Can't get stud forwards in second but because dmen are harder to project a lot of franchise types are found there

I seriously don't understand trading for rights unless you're prepared to pay "over-market" prices.

For players, I don't know why they would limit themselves right before UFA unless they're getting a crazy offer.

Stamkos would be stupid to sign with anybody until UFA. I could see Zona waaay over-paying Goli.

Wasn't expecting more than that. I think mid to late 2nd and an ok prospect with a cap dump that still saves us 2-3 mil is what we should be shooting for.
- Victoro311

Should be a full cap dump at that price. If we take back a bad salary return should be boosted. Anderson signed for fleury money and I think most gms rate fleury above Anderson . Age is a problem but I think fleury can play for a while still and is far more proven. His work at the beginning of this year made him our regular season mvp.

Talk Ottawa has called too so it might not be a one horse race

Him being paid 5.5 makes Flower more valuable, imo. 4.1 would have made him look overpaid.

well, maybe not more valuable, but zero hurt to his value, which is just as good.

and since one of the few good goalies are now gone the value for flower goes up. especially since bishop is not THAT much better and he is same age and is more expensive cap wise.

Anyone know where that chart was RW has posted a few times over the last two years is... regarding Draft picks and NHL success probability?

I know other bloggers use it too... just trying to figure out what pick on average is the 1st round cut off. I have it in my head as 14th, but thinking it might have been 18 or 19.

Should be a high second and a mid second. I'd love to get that deal while not taking on salary. Will let us target Ladd/boedker in free agency. If we add one of them it means we won't need to add a rental at tdl. So will be very good in terms of pick addition.

For Toronto anderson seems better choice as their window isn't quite open. For someone a guy whose already a true 1 but older could work.

I guess expect a deal soon. Now that someone set the mkt price should make gms feel comfortable on price. 2 high to mid 2nds is fine by me
