If Pittsburgh follows the successful Vancouver model for goaltending:
Murray is done
Fleury is done
Zatkoff is done
and Pittsburgh will end up signing James Reimer or some other Ryan Miller-FA
- DeflatedPucks
Pretty unbeiievable! |

Cap wise Calgary will be fine this year. Adding Fleury out right could make things tight but considering the big money extensions are for young RFAs they could always bridge deal them. Even then they could just force the pens to take back one of Engelland or Smid solving that problem out right.
Considering Calgary wants to be a playoff team now Fleury would be a great inexpensive option. |

Fck, what exactly did Reimer do in San jose? In how many regular season games (don't think you will find a very large sample size to say how good he was) & in playoffs, how many games did he play? Jones is the man in net in San Jose, Reimer is simply the backup. - Kevin R
Not a large sample size agreed ...he was 6-2 with 3 shutouts a 1.62 gaa and a 938 sv%
I'm not saying he is our answer in goal long term but he would cost us no assets and help bridge the gap between gillies or macdonald coming to Calgary
I'm all for bringing in fleury or Anderson instead but if the price is too high than Reimer would still be an upgrade on last years goaltending tire fire |

To be fair, Reimer is more than a backup. 1B would be more accurate. Fluery is a no. 1 for sure although he is getting long in the tooth. It depends on the ask but the Flames could do worse..... a pair of 2nds ? |

I don't see Pitt taking salary back unless it's a player they can use |

This has been said countless times, Gillies only has 1 pro year under his belt. He is protected under the expansion draft guidelines. - IggyOnly
I was going by Generalfanagers site, they had him as one of the goalies we'd have to protect. |

Yeah if they do not have a fit for either guy they won't bother. Though worse case of the Pens can get a better return to take on a one year deal then take him and move him elsewhere. Worse case they retain $1M of salary on the rental and make out well. |

He is done, yes? Tell me he is done. Like no team in the NHL will sign him done. He imploded worse than Toskala. |

Todd isn't saying Reimer is as good as MAF.....but in order to get MAF the Flames would have to give up some assets, so all things being taken into consideration, the Reimer route would be better.
Given the thought that the asking price for MAF seems to be fairly reasonable, I would prefer him over Reimer. But the other big X factor is how much/long Reimer wants. Time will tell! |

I don't understand the hate surrounding Reimer... his 5v5 save percentage over the past 2 years is better than MAF despite playing for the Leafs...
Honestly, I'll be happy with any of Reimer, Andersen, or Fleury... I almost hope that we find a way to bring in 2 of the 3. |

Hiller to Switzerland is confirmed. As far as trust goes though, you should probably double check everything. |
