I get it for Anaheim... they get 30th overall plus what will most likely be a top 5 pick in the 2nd round next year.

But Anderson is an RFA. That means that TOR will be paying him about 5M per AAV on top of what they are already paying Bernier at 4.15M

That's 9M in 2 goalies when they only had 7M to play with to begin.

As a Ducks fan and fan of Andersen this trade is disappointing. Thought they could have got better value, and it's the Leafs.

Only way a team takes on Bernier at that price is if the Leafs give up something of value and they are rebuilding it wouldn't be smart

I am sitting here thinking of this too... how did we NEVER think of this. It would be amazing to get Vesey signed this week and then go into the draft knowing that you just added a top 6 opening night forward to your team already

I've been calling for this for weeks - maybe on another site, not sure? Waiting until 8/15 would have bee rough in that the draft and regular UFA was well before it and signing Vesey changes those plans a bit.

I think them trading for Anderson could be exactly like when they traded for Bernier.

Look great on a team in the West who has one of the best teams in the entire NHL. Take away that amazing team and defensive core... and boom. Bust city again.

Girgensons or Ennis will the next to go, could be both.

Vesey would fall under the same rule as Reinhart and Eichel with years of service wouldn't they?

Maybe I don't understand that but I thought you didn't have ot use one of your spots if they are that young???
