Just spoke to my cousin who is close friends with Jimmy Vesey at Harvard, and he told me Vesey will not sign in Buffalo. He will be a Bruin

He's BAAAAAAAACK

Pretty sure this past season's woes with Chicago were bad too - losing Saad, Sharp, Oduya and 1 or 2 young guys plus picks and they fizzled out and are losing most of the assets they got.

(may be wrong on Saad, don't remember if he was last offseason or not)

- stashu

Saad, Broadhurst, Paliotta, 1st (16), Sharp, Johns, $1,125,000 of Scuderi's contract for Panik, Anisimov, 7th, 4th.

8 mil over the next 3 season.

His contract was front loaded

- dadeadhead

I thought it's 13 million over the next 3 years

Edit: just looked it up, it's definitely 13 million over the final 3 years.

A little different when you're trading for a player that refused to sign with one team.
- Stripes77

No, it really isn't. And even if it is how do you know Andersen wasn't refusing to sign in Anaheim given they clearly favored Gibson?

History says Ducks scouting staff can do damage with 30th overall pick. Got Perry 28th, Rakell 30th, Gibson 39th, Theodore 26th. Watch out.

Another example of why late 1st's don't always have to be considered lottery tickets, if you have a good organization

His history with concussions might be an issue.
- SABRES 89

Ennis is definitely tradable
It's just that we prob won't get much back for him right now bc on injury/poor stats last year

I'd rather just keep him
At least for this year

I think he'll bounce back nicely

And that's not counting last trade deadline giving up a 1st and two 2nds for Vermette and Timmonen. They haven't made great moves, but when you win cups it doesn't matter.

Sure it is.

Do you know if the Ducks gave them permission to talk to his agent before hand?

Expiring contract was 637,500, can't imagine it'll be much if anything more than that - but no, nothing official

Delorian needs to say "thank you Mr. Murray" and spend the summer doing nothing but learning the PK from Legwand and/or O'Reilly

True
Not just drafting, but how u actually develop the guys as well

I heard we got Vesey's rights!
I guess Jack talked him into signing here?
Great news, IMO

Saw the leafs traded for & signed Andersen...

I miss anything else?

Also, doesn't Vesey only have the option of an entry level deal? Or is that null and void if he becomes a free agent - if that's the case then I'd be concerned.

If it's not, then I'd say there is no reason we shouldn't know very soon whether or not he's signed, because he can't get more anywhere else...

Yeah, ELC for Vesey.

Justin Schultz's first contract was 2 years at, you guessed it, $925K with a $2.85M performance bonus and a $92,500 signing bonus. Another high profile college UFA Dekeyser 2 years $925K, signing bonus $92,500. His performance bonus was less. $850K for the 2nd year.

Do you know if Nashville didn't? We can go back and forth on this all night long. One guy signed immediately. The other didn't. Big deal. We gave up one of our 47 3rd round picks this year. Big deal.

To me it's less about what we lost if he doesn't sign and more about where he is likely to sign instead of here.

And the fact that it would look kinda embarrassing if he chose not to sign here after they trade for his rights and make a pitch

Florida traded for Yandle's rights.

A 6th round pick and conditional 4th if he signs.

CBJ continues to listen to interest in #3 pick, however, sources say CBJ would like to attach a contract, (Hartnell) for cap space...

I didn't look at his contract,
But if it's just a year or 2 I'd be interested depending on what else they'd want
Esp if we could keep #8

If he waits until 8/15, is he still stuck the ELC, or can he sign for whatever?

Vesey just played with Eichel, they have been friends for years per reports. For all you skeptics...

Call it tampering, call it whatever you like. Jack and Jimmy just played together. If it is tampering or not I can't imagine the subject of "where are you looking to sign" didn't come up. Of course Jack probably wants his friend to play with him and being that this will be one of the biggest decisions of the kid's life, Jimmy probably wants to talk about it with a friend. If it was a friend you trust you can talk about that knowing he's not going to "turn you in".

If that is logical, then GMTM knows whats going on. If Jimmy would have told Jack, you know Chicago really wants me I hear and I want to win a cup next year...this trade wouldn't have taken place. I'm not saying this is a done deal, but this idea that it's a complete shot in the dark is unreal. I could care less what agents say.

It may not be "Welcome Jimmy" time, but we're close methinks.
