Call it tampering, call it whatever you like. Jack and Jimmy just played together. If it is tampering or not I can't imagine the subject of "where are you looking to sign" didn't come up. Of course Jack probably wants his friend to play with him and being that this will be one of the biggest decisions of the kid's life, Jimmy probably wants to talk about it with a friend. If it was a friend you trust you can talk about that knowing he's not going to "turn you in".

If that is logical, then GMTM knows whats going on. If Jimmy would have told Jack, you know Chicago really wants me I hear and I want to win a cup next year...this trade wouldn't have taken place. I'm not saying this is a done deal, but this idea that it's a complete shot in the dark is unreal. I could care less what agents say.

It may not be "Welcome Jimmy" time, but we're close methinks.

His agent is the same agent that represents Eichel and I think Risto as well. He is not exactly going to want to be in bad graces with GMTM.

Maybe it isn't Risto but it's another top guy. Maybe ROR or Reinhart. I just remember that Eichel shared an agent with someone here already.

Dude it's just business. His 925k for 2 years is the max. But bonuses can still be negotiated. If I remember right some guys have like 92k bonuses and others have 1M bonuses.

Schultz had $2.8M per over both years and Dekeyser only had $850K for the 2nd. Performance bonuses. That's a massive difference. Also I'm not entirely sure, but I think they can stipulate what the bonus is ie they can set the bar ridiculously low, like $150K for 5 goals.

A 3rd rounder is a 3rd rounder, and it's well worth the risk of Vesey. But It wouldn't shock me if this plays out for a while. If TM "knew he would sign" then why give up anything for his rights and just wait to sign him.

That's the thing tho, there's really no negotiating. Sure, the bonuses are negotiable, but I'm pretty sure it would have been a given that he'd be maxed out (2.5-ish max in bonuses) no matter where he signs.

Nashville already has gone on the record that Vesey surprised them when he went FA. Now a second team is offering him a great opportunity on an ELC.

If he declines this one, too, he will get labeled as "difficult" and nobody wants that.

Ehhh 2.5M is the max bonus for top 3 picks on their ELC. Don't know if teams want to do that for a UFA and set some standard. Bonuses are off the record so it's up to Pegula. I'm sure he is fine with it.

Had us trading for Vesey weeks ago, had Toronto trading pick 30 for Anderson last week. Whether he is lucky, finds other rumors and steals them or actually has sources he gets correct info.

Has been pushing the Sabres moving up to 4 to get the Oilers pick for a couple weeks. We'll see.

Ennis for Brodin has been thrown about for 6 months now.

No one is panicking but it is a little concerning to hear.
Buffalo has reached out, no response back
Nothing has changed he still plans to glhit UFA
Only thing different is now Buffalo is Nashville.
