It would be a total surprise if we draft Juolevi but writers need eyeballs right now.

I think I am at a point where if it isn't Tkachuk or Dubois I will be a little disappointed I would deal with it but I really want Dubois.

You don't give up that much for an aging goaltender. Andersen was a legit deal. Early 2nd and a 4th for Fluery maybe.
- thundachunk

Hey I'm just seeing what the rumours are and it's silly season now so even if the 2nd and 4th might be reasonable I guess we'll just see if anything happens.

I do think that's it's more likely they try to get Fleury because he's 31 and by the time Gillies is ready to takeover it might what they want just like our are Demko situation.

Bishop is going to want big money with his contract up next year? They also have cap issues with all the young guys they have to sign so not sure if they really have the caps space for it.

Once the two kids get contracts we will know more of where the flames can go ..when bishop is up the flames will have wideman, Engelland, smid, and Raymond off the books ...almost 15 mill there

Bishop in goal would make you a playoff team. That would be a good signing.

Bishop in an anomaly just like Chara is. You got to develop those guys and stick with them. So rare.

I agree ...everyone complains about how much money you have to pay certain players but I'd rather have players looking to get big paydays instead of not

Wonder if the blues regret trading him ...or Ottawa too

If you take a look at what goaltending costs are league wide, paying Bishop isn't really a huge problem IMO.

Nhl is the toughest league in the world. Most aren't going to get it over night.

To me it's the same as having to pay for a top line forward or D man ...people complain about contracts these guys get ...then complain when they don't have a legit 1C/1D/1G

Looking at what some other teams pay for their goaltending tandems I would not lose any sleep paying bishop and say Ortio their market value

They are going on about the past TDL on 1040 this morning. The f*cking media in this town.

I would be concerned about injury issues with Bishop. He is huge and is starting have injury issues. That being said, he is a way better fit in Calgary than Felury. A 6th overall for a C/B level is a (frank)ing joke.

Continuing on the subject of goaltending, I strongly believe Leafs fans will be furious about the Anderson deal in a few years. They gave up a lot and immediately signed him to a huge contract. I'm not convinced he is an upgrade on Reimer

You are brave listening to team 1040. The only thing worse than thehosts are the moronic fans calling in screaming about asset management every 5 minutes.

We'll see how Anderson pans out. They had so many picks that the trade itself wasn't too hard to swallow but that extension could come back to bite them in the ass.

Pratt and his followers need to be put on the sky train at King George turn off the breaks and let it just ride out.. Hopefully it would go off course over the Fraser

Yes, worthwhile gamble but potentially a very poor signing. I'm baffled that people are saying Anderson is an elite goalie at its a steal. What in the (frank) is going on? The Ducks chose Gibson over Anderson. He was average in the regular season and had strong numbers in the playoffs. Way to small a sample size

They won the Jennings trophy, which is an accomplishment but when people talk about acquiring young talent from the Ducks it's usually their D and Gibson.

I don't think it's a bad move, but it isn't without risk.

Benning on the next #Canucks assistant coach: "We'd like a veteren with experience on the defensive side & good with working with centres."

Benning on Malhotra: "I hear nothing but good things about him, but the only box he doesn't tick is experience & winning in the business."

You would rather Dubois or Tkachuk ? I think Puljujarvi is the clear #3. If he somehow slips to us, we would be stupid not to take.
- anavar

I think JP is the ultimate boom or bust. There are clear consistency issues, even bad for an 18 yr old. He's got the all around best skill set in the draft but rarely shows it. We got a glimpse at the WJHC were he was by far the best ayer in the tourny
