It's kind of weird having both teams under competent management at the same time eh?
I think it was a good gamble to trade for the rights. Even if he goes somewhere else (I still suspect he's got Boston in mind), it's worth the risk once you've stockpiled enough picks to make them non-essential individually. Buffalo should have a pretty good chance of signing him the way things are progressing there.

a goalie can make a team.. look at the habs first half of the season when they had price in the back end.. they were much looser and it showed because they were scoring left and right and had by far the best record in the NHL. then price goes down, they tighten up and the bottom falls out.

Problem with basing your team off of one player is that if said player get hurt (or has a bad streak) you are screwed.....

I'm not denying you that man. A good goalie can carry a team to the playoffs but a great team is needed to win it.

Besides Quick... I can't think of the last "elite" goalie to win a cup. Murray, Crawford, Niemi weren't considered "elite" goalies. Arguably Tim Thomas, MAF, Ward?

if you saw him coach the pens you would know. he will never make adjustments mid game, he always uses his mantra "we got to get to our game" and nothing else ever, he HATES HATES HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATES young people (which is bad for a soon to be playoffs team). he won a cup ye but he did the same mike sullivan did for the pens this year. he brought a diffrent mindset that was perfect AT THAT TIME but ever since that cup he was bad. I believe Mike sullivan is a better coach though. atleast for the pens.

Honestly, and I'm being honest here. If you read Leafs blogs. I'd say under 10% of Leafs fans want them to sign Vesey. 40% don't want Vesey. 50% couldn't care less either way

Hey, what doesn't work for you guys may work for us. Maybe he's different this time around. Maybe he learned a few things. And to take into consideration, he signed up to coach a team that is led by players 25 and under. And among those players, a majority are under 22. We'll keep the optimism as long as possible. But, I do see where you're coming from with his stint with the Pens.
