This is the biggest mistake uneducated fans make. Star player X moving from one team to another and thinking they will up their goal totals 50% because they have an upgrade in line mate. It's usually not the linemate that makes a difference, it's the MINUTE increase, PP time, opportunity. Stamkos already has top minutes, PP time, etc... And didn't play with scrubs either. It's why Phil kessel going to Toronto to playing with Crosby and Malkin didn't go from 60 pts to 100. He stayed at 60. Or why saad had a big increase in pts, his usage on Columbus skyrocketed. Sure a guy like stamkos can have a career year again can happen, but to think he's gonna automatically score 50 goals because eichel is better than his previous linemates can be foolish.

Toronto is not ad advantage as a city, especially as a pro hockey player. Don't be fooled. No one loves to pump their own tires like the people of Toronto.
