To me, he should want to play (only signing 2 year deal) with NHL club that gives me a better chance to tear it up and get a higher salary for next contract. That should be motive #1.

That amazing city... hasn't been able to pull a top notch UFA in YEARS. All have come through trade.

That amazing prospect pool is highly overrated. Sosh, Hyman, Brown, Gracco, Kapenen, etc... they have comparable stats in the AHL to guys Buffalo has who we consider average here. Get off your high horse. You have Marner, Nylander, and Matthews. Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, Vesey (hopefully), and our draft pick this year is just as good if not better.
