It has to due with his bonuses as well. A 2 year ELC the bonus structure changes a bit.
Murray COULD sign him now if there is space (I think there is) but it would effect how much Vesey would actually get. - Stripes77
It wouldn't affect the bonus structure - lay the same bonus structure in every year, just obviously wouldn't have hit any "this" season.
Not all that sure that signing him now (if they're allowed...so many different posts on when they can/can't has my head spinning) would burn anything.
Either way, if they're allowed to sign him now and they don't before 7/1, I don't have good feelings about it happening. |

Could it be because of his age and college status that we have to wait till July 1st

I wish someone would have asked something along the lines of "If training camp or the season started tomorrow, would Ennis be full contact and ready to go?" - JVince11
if they are planning on using Ennis in a trade that would probably affect his value.. kind of glad it wasn't asked.. not saying i want him traded but i just don't want that information out there just in case |

If I'm remembering correctly, he was for the very end of the season. He didn't get to play any games, but he wanted to. |

Remember what you guys thought you'd get for Tyler Myers? And then what you actually got?
Goooood times - rangerdanger94
Remember what you though you'd get for Stepan, and you just got stuck paying him his salary? Better times. |

"Stuck" paying him his salary?
Stepan is worth every penny of his contract. |

I really don't know how else you can possibly interpret that statement besides "Vesey is not signing with Buffalo, until at least August 15th".
Anyone who claims they are holding off on announcing anything because of tampering needs to take off their tin foil hat. Andersen signed an extension immediately upon being dealt to Toronto. No one is yelling tampering on that. - rangerdanger94
Andersen signed an extension 5 mins after the trade was announced because Toronto was given permission to talk to Andersen and had a deal in place before the trade was announced. Toronto wasn't going to trade those 2 picks and then lose Andersen after a year. No tampering because Anaheim gave Toronto permission. |

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
This is Buffalo. Nobody is ever happy with what's going on around here (in terms of the sports franchises especially). - HonkFortheGoose
There definitely have instability surrounding their rosters from an identity and competitiveness standpoint, but the Pegula's have shored up just about every other aspect of the franchises.
I can't wait till the Sabres in particular have an identity and we spend off seasons talking about getting that one guy we need and not all this crap. |

Truth is nobody wants the little guy to win. American culture suggests that bigger is always better. Big cities = better. They deserve the best players, beat coaches, best teams, etc. That's how others think anyway. - 50GinosIn07
With the exception being the Green Bay Packers. Everyone loves the Packers. |

11 back to back game nights... Looks like most of them are in the 2nd half of the year after New years
Do we know where that ranks among others in the NHL? Typically we have in the most category. |

It's not impossible to hit.
But I don't get bent out of shape by the use of picks as currency for players who have shown what they can do in the NHL (even for short periods of time). - Der Kaiser
Neither did I until it became a theme with Murray.
He moved 3 said tickets in a supposed loaded draft.
Individually, any move he has made can be justified. I just always thought we might end up missing out on a Giroux |

Can't run a franchise with that mentality though. That's what Darcy did and look how that turned out for us. |
