great, be a 6-8 team in the east. Its great for your team, just ask us

Let's wait for the draft and free agency before we start handing out actual predictions...the Rangers are open for business and will look a lot different on opening night next season.

No. I mean, if they can sign him, then good for them. But I don't know about "Steal of the Century." Also, I don't know why they decided to give a 3rd when they could have just signed him in August if Buffalo can offer him such a fabulous life/career situation.

It is a term taked from the Boston Herald if you actually read it bud.

Then why is NYR trying so desperately to move his inflated contract like the black plague??
- JVince11

If you could show me a source that says NYR is "desperately" trying to move him, I will record myself eating a sock.

Respond to my bet.

I bet BUF makes the playoffs this year... most likely along with NYR riding on Lunqvist's back.

Rick Nash is a great hockey player who had 1 bad season.
- rangerdanger94

The problem with that 1 bad season is timing wise for the Rangers it doesn't come at a very great time. They need to figure out their cap, and he's a very large part of the reason why. And with the season he just had, moving that contract could be difficult (if that's what they want to do) and keeping it could be risky in that he's not getting any younger and this past year could be an indicator of where his game is going.

That said, he's been a very good player. Just not sure he's going to get back to that at this point.

Just received from Vesey's agent: "Jimmy's intent at this time has not changed and is prepared to become a free agent on August 15." #Sabre

I don't know how else to interpret that than "I'm not signing with Buffalo, before August 15th"

- rangerdanger94

I think Vesey's quotes about what he is going to look for in deciding on a team (coach, roster, city, etc) are more telling. The kid has waited a long time to get to FA so he can decide where he wants to play. He may end up deciding that Buffalo is the place or he could choose somewhere else but he is not going to let a deal struck between Murray and Nashville decide for him.

Man I hope the Sabres sign Vesey if only just to see the look on those cocky Leaf fans' faces.
- Tsyolin

Honestly, and I'm being honest here. If you read Leafs blogs. I'd say under 10% of Leafs fans want them to sign Vesey. 40% don't want Vesey. 50% couldn't care less either way

Last week I was told Girgensons for Fowler straight up we talked about.
- SABRES 89

There's no way one fan of any team would agree to that. How on Earth could that be a real proposal? ZG+ for sure. Doesn't even have to be a huge +. Of course, it's not up to fans..

Not saying you're wrong because I'm well aware of your inside knowledge... ROR, Moulson, (Stammer).. just very hard to believe.

Lundqvist, Stepan, Brassard, Kreider, Nash, McIlrath, Miller, Hayes, Zuccarello, McDonagh, Klein, Skjei, Buchnevich, Lindberg, Fast. The Rangers are in great shape right now.
- rangerdanger94

Lundqvist is going downhill, McDonagh is a hit away from being a vegetable, at least one of either Stepan, Brassard, or Nash will be gone before the start of the year.

http://fansided.com/2016/...rick-nash-on-trade-block/

http://www.blueshirtbante...-situation-was-a-disaster

Is this literal? They basically said that they have to trade him in order to be able to sign other players. Is that literal? I'm not sure? You seem to be the site management for dictionary interpretations. Should NYR let those guys go in order to get keep Nash maybe then? Seems pretty literal?

Until Sabres trade for him and you post that he's on a major decline in his career and you can't believe Sabres are that dumb to trade for him.

Considering they are drafting number 1, got a starting goalie and look to land Stamkos, I'm really not sure you'll see much disappointment in Leafs fans faces. Lou can't promise him top line minutes like TM can. He has to earn his spot on the Leafs roster battling the likes of Marner, Nylander, Soschnikov, Hyman, Brown and Kapenen. Not too mention Michalek and Greening. I just don't see him being a fit in TO.

Vesey's not signing with the Leafs. He'll be in Boston. The Leafs have enough youngsters on the wings with Nylander, Marner, Brown, Hyman and Sosh
- walshyleafsfan

I wouldnt be so sure.
Hyman and Sosh could be pushed down behind Vesey.

- TheSabresTaco

The stats are not indicating that he is declining. He went from another "off season" in 2013-14 where he "only" scored 26 goals in 65 games and then rebounded (or I guess declined in your book?) to a 42 goal season in 2014-15. He's had another off year but quotes have leaked from management that they believe Nash's off year was due to a lingering injury from the beginning of the season and that he will rebound next year.

Good point. That is rumoured to be one of the places he wants to go.
