I was pretty damn happy to have my rankings exactly almost the same

- GERBE!!!75PTS

And we pick #8!! I don't think he's on GMTM's top 3 list. I think it's Juoli, Chychrun and Nylander, but that's a guess

Stamkos was absolutely in the same category as Kane and Toews. Then Cooper stopped playing him a lot.
- Stripes77

I'd take Kane or Toews over Stamkos all day long.

People are forgetting what a elite score is lol

Probably the same people that thought Ovi was a scrub and over the hill and you shouldn't trade Thomas Vanek for

If you only make 75k a year, would you overpay by several thousand for a car just because that is the best one the dealer had?

There are other ways to win championships. In fact, history shows there are better ways.

- Slump Buster

There are other ways, you're right. Tell me that we should draft and develop all the players and I can say the same thing. Say that all our stars should be free agents I can say "There are other ways to win championships". There are other ways, but, in my opinion, this is the best way with the position that we are in today. We have young players who are cheap, skill players at key positions, and need offense desperately. So I want the best offensive weapon available to help that. If that sacrifices a few players then that's fine in my opinion.

If Pittsburgh did not move Kessel to the 3rd line, they would have been fighting for a playoff spot and would not have made it out of the first round most likely. Like previously noted when we had vanek, pommers and roy on our 3rd line. We could definitely fit Stamkos right into the line up andrun three top lines.

Kane Stamkos Ennis
Vesey Eichel Reinhart
Moulson O'Reilly Girgs
D'lo Larsson Gionta
Foligno

- adambuffalo

Thinking more like this:

Kane Stamkos ROR
Vesey Eichel Reinhart
Foligno Larsson Ennis
Delo Schaller Gionta

Girgensons is traded IMO
Then Ennis gets moved and Bailey or Fasching takes his place

Sure - I would have signed their guys as well. And their guys aren't Stamkos. We don't have to go out and try to sign the best available guy for crazy jack. There are other ways.

The floor is yours, how would you add to this roster. You have 11MM dollars to do it. Go.

Yeah so give him $12 and say goodbye to Marcus and have Bailey or Fasching play in his spot
- Stripes77

Sign me up to Stammer at $12M and replace Foligno with Fasching or Bailey. Sold!

One thing I hope we don`t do is trade number 8 for Fowler. Trade Girgs or Ennis and a lower draft choice - yes. But not 8 for Fowler.

Gerbe...

Is Keller a pure center??? I know that most centers can slot to RW fairly easy but didn't know if he was advertised as it at all?

As much as I think Keller should be considered at #8... I think I like Nylander as a true LW there too. I am not very high on any of the defensive guys any more.

Kane yes and if he were hitting free agency he would be getting $13 million at least.

I love Toews but they Sabres have a player like him already...his name is ROR

And he still netted 43 and 36 goals. I really think most are just posturing, so if/when Stamkos doesn't sign here, they can argue they never wanted him.

If the best UFA in the history of the league wants to come here, you sign him.

If not, you can have Peters twice!

He is a center but definitely thrives on the wing he's just like Johnny hockey if he was at the center position he just makes plays

When you have a chance to bring in a 26 yr old that , is almost a ppg player, has a 60, 50, 2 40 goal seasons, and it costs you no assets (or minimal ones in the price of draft picks)......... you do it no questions asked.

"Swing for the fences" - how often does that work out in free agency? This is why free agency is known as the silly season. It all seems so great on July 1. And it almost never works out. I agree with Tampa - I wouldn't have given him more than 9 either, especially since he has question marks.
- Slump Buster

I agree with the "Silly Season" thing, but that is more for paying too much for midlevel talent because they are the best player available. This does not apply to Stamkos, it applies to everyone else. It applies to the Okposo's out there that will get $6m+.

big time players need to score goals in playoffs

toews did not score 1 goal in the series vs the blues, big reason they got tossed in first rd

That bottom 6 is literally gross. Foligno should never be anything more than a 4th. Can't wait to get rid of the remnants of the tank

Tampa also has about 6 players that need to be paid and a Norris caliber defensemen that is going to be getting a huge raise soon.

I really think Tampa is willing to pay close to the $10 million mark but Stamkos has had enough of Cooper

I have no issue with Foligno staying or going.

He played well this year for a bottom 6 forward whether you like it or not.

Him, Larsson and Gionta played very well together

money saved for moving foligno, ennis, upgrade the d and goalie

I didint know those guys were available in the trade market, we should go get them. Of course it is going to cost you #8 overall and Reinhart just for one of them.
