Nash was mentioned. For Kessel, Pitt ending up giving up the last pick in the first round for him and a decent (not great) prospect.

Do the math. If you gave up that same pick for a guy making 7 mill instead of 12, you've saved yourself 35 mill over 7 years.

I'd rather give up a second for Nash right now than commit 12 a year to this guy.

Crosby is not known as a goal scorer. Fun fact he only has one season of 40 plus goals. It so happened to be 51 but has never broken 40 other than that one season.

Which is exactly why we should not get our panties in a jumble over a guy that at this point in his career is a 40 goal a year one-way player with health concerns (not just the clotting issue).

As I said earlier, Stamkos is obviously superior to Nash. I am also saving 5 mill a year and not going to hate myself in 3 or 4 years.
