Amac for Hall + - Girouxsalem90
Yak for Ghost! |

Well, we need to do something to take big steps to improve the backend. If Hall needs to move to do that, then it needs to happen. We can survive and even possibly thrive without him. However, we could do the same with him. |

"When the Oilers eventually get him, and I think they will, then I will be happy they crossed off one of their needs from the List of Despair."
Lol. The Oilers aren't getting Hamonic unless they give up Hall. Good luck getting your defenseman elsewhere, since COL says Barrie is staying put, CAR says they're not trading Faulk (and they have absolutely zero reason to even consider it), and ANA just extended Vatanen.
Have fun with Zach Bogosion and his $5.2M cap hit lol. |

Hall is probably worth around a top 5-12 RD in the NHL. I don't think Hamonic quite makes that list. - RonPielep
But everyone who does isn't going anywhere, and either is EDM until they address their defense, so it puts you in quite the conundrum. You won't do better than Travis Hamonic at $3.85M per year for 4 more years. Might make sense to trade Hall for Hamonic, since top forwards are easier to get, and EDM already has plenty of them. |

Hall for Hamonic, Dal Colle, and 1st. - H8terade
That's too much from the Islanders. Hall is great, but Dal Colle's second half this year was just absurd. Swap out Dal Colle for someone like Josh Bailey and you'd have a deal if I were the GM. |

What do you guys think about a package built around hampus lindholm and hall? Ana needs to do something about their D before expansion, and right now Fowler seems like the odd man out, but I can see them wanting to parlay their depth into someone elite like Hall, and Fowler + picks/mid 6 forwards wouldn't fetch Hall. It'd be a tough deal to work out, but could be perfect for both teams going forward. |

If a guy like Hall is so easy to get then why hasn't Tavares had a winger like him in...forever???

Seriously though, I would do a McDonagh for Hall. Not a RHD but he did play some in the olympics. |

As much as the oilers are desperate for D; Chia knows that other teams are desperate to get rid of some they risk losing in expansion. So I doubt we are going to be bent over as much as some other fans think and hope. |

I never said a player as good as Hall was easy to get; I said good forwards are easier to get than good defenseman (you should know that better than anyone as an Oilers fan). And he's had plenty, the meme of "JT has no wingers" is just that: a meme. He had: Matt Moulson (scored 30 goals in three straight years); PA Parenteau (had 53 and 67 pts his two years with NYI); Okposo, who is 15th in EV P/60 over the last 3 seasons; Brock Nelson, Ryan Strome, Anders Lee.....Plenty of good forwards. |

I guess that makes Maroon and Yak very good forwards too since they can score a lot with McDavid?
Hall is a top 5 winger in this league. He is not going to go cheap. |

I wouldn't say that's getting bent over, Lindholm is young, and insanely good already, and Hall is a top 5(ish) winger. Hall for Lindholm + #24 & 30 (give or take) is a lubed up missionary for both teams. |

Maybe don't claim it so vehemently. Ovi, Benn, Kane, Pavelski, and Tarasenko all precede him as far as ranking and once you start factoring two-way game and physicality, you get some further variety. I'd say top-10 LWer for certain. |

Weren't you suggesting Fowler in that earlier post? I think that was where his negative reaction came from. Lindholm would be amazing and I'd even do that deal 1-for-1.
EDIT: Scratch that, you mentioned both. |

I suggested that Fowler looks like the guy they want to trade, but offering Hall could motivate them to move Lindholm instead. It was a bit confusing.
For the record, I don't think any package involving Fowler would be good enough to get Hall, you guys need a top pairing anchor, not someone who could look good on a top pairing playing with a legit #1 D. |

Pavelski 's a natural center.
Tarasenko plays far more right wing. Same as Kane I believe
Hall is unequivocally a top 3-4 left winger imo
Not interested in hamonic and some throw ins for him really.
I feel like in halls case, there's not a lot that makes sense unless we're acquiring a great great defender and probably having to add to hall to get it done

Pavelski is a hybrid centre. The only guy in the list I take over Hall is Benn and that's pretty even to me. I'd rather have Hall than Kane and Tarasenjo for sure. Hall on the big stage such as worlds always seems to outperform pretty much everyone else.
Just my opinion though. |
