That's too much from the Islanders. Hall is great, but Dal Colle's second half this year was just absurd. Swap out Dal Colle for someone like Josh Bailey and you'd have a deal if I were the GM.
- isles10289

Now you are just being a fool. Dal Colle looks like a potential AHL lifer and big-time bust. The only reason his second half looked so good this season is because his first half was absolutely pathetic for an OHLer of his age and draft pedigree.

He was passed by Barzal on your depth chart almost immediately and he was likely passed by both Ho-Sang and Beauvillier already too.

If he can't prove consistency as a 20 year old in the OHL good luck proving it in the AHL let alone the NHL.

Hamonic is a very solid D man but wow is he getting over rated. Defensemen who have limited offensive ability for someone like Hall is insane. Eberle is about fair

Pavelski 's a natural center.
Tarasenko plays far more right wing. Same as Kane I believe

Hall is unequivocally a top 3-4 left winger imo

Not interested in hamonic and some throw ins for him really.

- Ihateallofu

Iggy claimed top-5 WINGER, not specifying which wing. As far as LWers, I'd put him behind Ovi and Benn and in the tier with Landeskog, Pacioretty, Gaudreau, and Sedin right above Parise, Forsberg, and Sharp. So I can agree with that.

That's not quite fair to say. Sure he struggled in the first half, but those things happen. He's a much bigger question mark, but by no means should his value be completely negated by it.

Hall at 6M >> Kane at 10.5M.

Kane is for sure the better player. Not 4.5M better.

I wouldn't call an average of 28 points per 82 games is limited unless we're also prepared to call Sekera or Lindholm's offensive ability such as well. He's still a decent producer and strong puck mover.

It's a discussion of top wingers as far as ability and tangible production, not who we'd rather build a team with (negate cap influence).

Nobody thinks Hamonic is worth Hall straight up. Funny thing is the isles really can't afford to trade Hamonic for a forward anyway because that leaves a gaping hole on D for a couple of years. We see by watching you guys trying to get that top 4 dman. Who the hell wants to go through that? I think the isles would be better served trading their 1st and a young roster player or top prospect for a winger who is a little less talented then Hall but who can still put up 30 goals playing with JT

MDC has not proven by any means that he belongs in the NHL. Until he does so he is a potential bust (especially for a top 5 pick two years ago). I don't think MDC has progressed a whole lot since his draft year and his value has certainly declined since then. It probably bottomed out during his disappointing first half this year and then rebounded a little after the second half.

He doesn't seem like a good bottom 6 option to me, so I think he needs to either produce in a top 6 role or be a bust. If he can't consistently produce in a top 6 role in the AHL next season then the writing is likely one the wall for him. Next year is make or break imo. At this point I'd put my money on bust.

So his make or break year will come in his first pro season at 20 years old? For the record I have questions about him too but way too early to even come close to making a decision on him

Not sure about the rest of you but I really hope Shatty gets traded to the Oilers- just to (frank) up the Bruins- and to shut these Islander fans up... AND I hope its for way less than HALL

It's a big year for him, but it's not like he's where Yakupov is.

I think shattenkirk is a longshot for us

Love to have th, but I'd be shocked if we dealt hall with hamonic as the main piece coming back. Regardless of the add ins

I agree, I also feel like he might be the first of the prospects to be traded if they go that route

Honestly I think yes, next year can be a make or break year for him. If he produces consistently in a top 6 role in the AHL then I think he will have a chance moving forward. If he can't do that then it will definitely be a big break year for him in terms of value. Not like it will be impossible for him to ever change (still young) just that his value will be severely diminished and he will be a much bigger project than expected.
