I'm sure they will match, but it will screw up Cheveldayoff a bit. Plus unlike the Leafs unless the Jets get busy, aren't they vulnerable to losing some pieces in the expansion draft? If they go 4-4-1, which forwards do they protect?

Lucic as a UFA reeks of a Clarkson-esque signing. He will get a big contract and I think it will be a big mistake in the years to come.
Now I know this is bordering on trolling, but with Subban on the block, is there any possible way that the Leafs would be able to bring him in without completely blowing our future and cap? IIRC, he and Stamkos are close friends and what a better way to lure him over.
Should he get dealt though, EDM seems like a good partner. Lots of big chips to trade and EDM looking for an elite D-man. |

Perrault and Stafford are UFA.
May lose a Dano or Armia.

No - for the $6 million plus that he gets, I would rather add a skilled quality d-man. Love toughness, but the NHL rules have eliminated the importance of players like Lucic.
