Edmonton is mostly white people.. white people don't commit crimes, and if they do they don't get punished for them.. That chart say more about the racist profiling of African americans than anything else. |

Lou did say he like his goalie tall and athletic when he was talking about Andersen and then he turn to talk about Bernier, there was a brief pause and then he turned back to Andersen.

and he should be able to take advantage of Canadian non-resident rules to have his 2016 bonus effectively taxed at U.S. rates. |

Nah, Burkie will take him, after he finishes drafting bigger players with more truculence and testosterone. Bernier to Calgary for a conditional 4th round pick

Not sure what you mean. You think Stamkos will take less overall money because he gets more upfront (cap hit is averaged out so that doesn't really matter). Maybe a bit but not the different between 9mill and 11mill....that's leaving $14mill on the table and highly doubtful, even if more paid up front, that he will leave that much on the table overall.
I think regardless, he will be a Leaf soon enough. - Cooshie
I'm actually loosely agreeing with you in my statement before. The longer the contract in this case the better. If Stamkos wants his 10.5 per then give it to him for the first half of the contract. You can play around with the numbers quite a bit in the final years to work it out to a nice average. Maybe 9-9.5 per possibly less depending on Louamkos negotiations which is completely reasonable for the type of player we are getting. If Stamkos takes a home town discount I see him taking it in his final years in his contract not his first few. If he wants to come here I just think there is so many ways to make it work and make both sides happy. But I think we are all getting ahead of ourselves here |

Yup. Simply put, between his agent and Brandon Pridham, they'll be able to figure something out... |

I'm not a Leaf hater...? I really like the moves they've been making.
I do find a lot of the fans aren't really tied to reality, though. - BINGO!
Reality is for people who can't handle drugs.
But it's great so many other fans take it upon themselves to help us come down. It's satisfying volunteer work. |

Thank (frank) that in 9 days, this Stamkos bullpoop is over, one way or the other
I'm sick to death of it, tbh.
At this point, I want the Leafs to sign him, if only so that this same (frank)ing nonsense doesn't consume next year Re: Tavares |

I want the Leafs to sign him because he's a good player and it would be exciting and he could help the team get better right away without giving up anything other than cap space. |

They could also negotiate and offer him an off-the-record extension deal so he could retire a Leaf.
Stamkos signs now for 7 years at $X amount and then at 33 they agree to sign him to a 5 year extension at $X amount so he can retire a Leaf....money TBD at time of contract based on performance and player quality.
12 year deal as captain of his hometown team where he can try and win the coveted Cup and retire as one of the best Leafs ever, HOF bound.

This is a little bit optimistic and over the top.
I think the Leafs should give him a good offer if they firmly believe that it's the way to do. If he refuses and goes elsewhere other than Tampa, fine. He might as well move his whole family out of Toronto because he'll never be welcome there again.
Now THAT'S how you deal. |

why is it that people seem to think Lou is a goalie god simply because in 20 - 25 years he drafted one amazing goalie and trade for a great goalie that everyone and their mom knew would be great.
Ya but Lou got the deal done.....YA GOTTA GET IT DONE !!!!! |
