I don't think Benning can go and make offers. I think he has to wait for them to come to him if he wants a big return. - VANTEL
I'd be up to see some draft floor trades and Bettman getting boo'ed at the mic.
just hoping whoever we pick will be able to contribute some offense. If we pick a dman, they have the potential to be top pairing. and if a winger or centre is selected, they have some finish.

The only way Hamhuis should be resigned is if Sbisa is moved and Hamhuis is resigned at that cap hit or less...
the odds of this happening? Tuesdays
If Sbisa can be moved, I think I'd rather see Larssen signed and maybe a cheap ufa dman acquired for depth, similar to a Stanton. We really should move on from Hamhuis, good luck to him. |

So what's the top 3 (realistic) wish list in order for you guys at #5? |

I was a little surprised to see Hamhuis mentioned at 50/50 by CS (I know it is just spit-balling). I think JB's talk is just with the slim hope of trading his negotiating rights and PR for a respected player in the organization and community.
I don't see a fit with him and the club moving forward. If Hutton needed some time in the AHL, there might be a fit, but he doesn't need that time. If Edler was moved and we got a forward back there could be a fit, and I don't see that happening either. It's over, we are breaking up. |

Ya, it's funny when you read that all those guys are around 200 lbs but seeing them standing together Dubois looks bigger. Combine that with his impressive combine results, he looks to be at the very least a very strong kid.

As long as we leave the draft with one of those guys in roughly that order ill be happy. Obviously adding additional picks/prospects for moving down if it happens. |

Id prefer to move sbisa and sign hamhuis. He would be a good stop gap until one of the utica guys is ready to make the jump. By adding guddy, tryamkin and hopefully pedan(#7,8 guy) as making sbisa irrelevant. |

He will likely be 6'3, 215 in September..if we draft him I wouldn't be shocked to see him play 9 games before being sent to junior. |

Obviously it depends how they do in camp and how Virtanen looks but wouldn't be upset at all if either of Tkachuk/Dubois make the team and send Virtanen to the AHL for the 9 game stint and perhaps beyond.
I'm in the camp that Virtanen needs to work on his offensive game and being the go to guy in Utica will help more than being a 3rd/4th liner in the NHL IMO.

Personally I believe Virtanen will develop better in the NHL. He proved he was ready last year in my opinion and hopefully he makes further improvements to his conditioning/ shot this summer. I understand that there may be benefits to being a key cog in the offense down in the AHL I just fear he will pickup more bad habits. |
