Neither will any team at 7.8 mil. That's the advantage we have. - sbroads24
Tatar and Datsyuk's contract for a 3rd is a better option than a 3rd for Nash IMO.
Always liked Nash and wanted the Sabres to make a play for him when the Rags did.
Glad we dodged that bullet. |

My offseason moves if we don't get Stamkos would be to sign Lucic if term and dollars are not outrageous. Try to trade for Fowler without giving up Girgs. If we can't get Fowler, sign Kris Russell. Keep number 8 and draft the best D available, unless we can trade up to get Tkachuk. |

What NYR gave up for him and his role there is 100% irrelevant to us.
You are trading for him to be a secondary piece. 25 goals 45-50 points. |

I hate rick nash(only room for one #61) but..
He played on some very poor CBJ teams and honestly never with a pure #1 center(still has great numbers).
But both him and Hossa are extremely underrated defensively - yen6d1

My Offseason moves:
Break the bank for Stamkos
Sign Vesey
Sign Girgs
Sign Soupy (gonna be tough)
Trade Foligno
Trade for LHD
Re-evaluate Girgs, Ennis, and Larsson at the trade deadline
No Nash - we are no longer a dumping ground for salary, we are about winning
No Lucic - (frank) that dude
And I would say No Yandle but that's not an issue anymore |

Plays a very similar game
Doesn't miss many games
Cheaper in cap hit although a year longer
Will be on the cheaper side to get though not a cheap as Nash
Still producing at a pretty good clip
Plays with a bigger edge
Over the last 4 seasons has scored 13 points less than Nash at way less pay

As a option in August sure.
No need to rush getting him if they miss out on Stamkos. |

3 years older. Year longer on cap. That's a giant no. I want nothing to do with a 36 year old Hartnell |

Even when he wasn't scoring during the rags playoff runs he was still their #1 pk forward. Still hate him but when most high scoring forwards are in a slump they typically dont hold their own in the D zone |

He also was only 63rd in terms of points per 60 in by far his worst year. (minimum of 30 games)
63rd is a high end #3 forward. Which is perfect |

I don't see any way ennis gets is hoffman. Players with his term coming off of a concussion don't get moved for anything of value, if they are even tradeable at all. |

He played with an injury (back i think) for a while..If you eat all of his cap i think you could get him for very cheap |

I didn't mean straight 1 for 1 but how much more does it really take? This was argued a few pages back but Hoffman's numbers don't blow Ennis out of the water by any means. Hoffman is going to need a contract and probably get Ennis+ $ anyway.
So are we talking Ennis and a 3rd? That is fine with me, better than taking the ? of Rick Nash (who I personally like) for a 3rd because I think losing Ennis doesn't really hurt us when we sign StamGretzky and Vesemieux |

Nash's awful hit hurts us next year in the UFA market. Stamkos does too but he's a star not a fading one. |

His numbers are irrelevant. He is coming off a long term concussion and it remains to be seen if he can still play/produce.
Right now, he is a detriment in any trade. He needs to rebound (recover might be a better word) before he can be moved for anything of interest. |

If we are adding Vesey and Nash (this is assuming no #91) then you can make it work.
I agree on next year UFA if we already have Stamkos |
