I think Boston is going target the crap out of him.
Avs are going fwd heavy this draft so they pass on him, bean, etc at 10.
Brown, McLeod are their targets in my mind |

I'll disagree with this a bit. A few more wins last year and we're in. So now you have a potential full season from Lehner, Eichel and Reinhart with a full season under their belts, and the whole team with a year under the coach in the system. Add in another winger and a defenseman and I think you can sneak in. You're not making any noise and you need to claw your way in, but I think you can at least be close. - Zschalberg
there better be a plan B in net as lehner is now 2 seasons with as much time on the shelf as on the ice |

if all the d-men are on the board at 8, a d-man will get taken...I believe I read that murray is looking at two d-men and a forward at that spot and that he's pretty sure one of them will be available |

Juolevi & Sergachyov are the D targets, so 1 should be there at 8. 2 teams would have to go (frank) it and pick a D man leaving talent on the table just for a positional need. Oilers could be 1 of them. Cant see Flames or Yotes doing it. So unless Benning goes full Benning Sabres should get 1 Dman |

At the risk of bringing up something worse than the last comment section, I'm not all that worried about it. Unrelated injuries etc etc. Of course, a nice capable backup would be a great thing to have too. The goalie market is good for buyers right now but I'm still hoping Johnson decides to come back |

More like 2016 NHL troll draft. I couldn't stop thinking this was a Garth blog while reading it.
As if the Sabres are in a position to criticize anyone about bottom 5 finishes. That's like the Oil criticizing bottom 5 teams when they drafted Nurse.
And Gauthier will never be as good a scorer as Vesey? He hasn't played an NHL game yet so some people need to get off his Richard like he is some bona fide 1st liner. |

If we don't get Stamkos all the folks that didn't want him will be lining up to jump off the piece bridge because we didn't get him. - SABRES 89
Something like this: Buffalo sucks, nobody wants to come here, Murray can't land anyone, we'll never win the cup, we never make any decent moves, did I miss any? |

Which is probably best. As much as we need scoring this year anyone we get at 8 won't be able to help that. In 2-3 years when the contracts do start filling up space a cheap defensive prospect could be a big help. |

I mean, 2 years of finishing last is bad, yeah. But I remember being in high school talking about how Edmonton keeps getting top 5 picks. It's 5 in 6 years and the other time was 7th. Even just this year we're picking 8th while their best in the past half decade was 7th.
Not saying that we're much better, but c'mon. Pick your battles. |

And got smoked in the first round, we need a lot more - SABRES 89
We were playing pretty good hockey down the stretch last year.
ROR - 11 pts in his 12 games back/20 pts in last 21 games
Eichel - 15 pts in last 17 games
Reinhart - 13 pts in last 17 games
Kane - 14 pts in last 20 games
Bogo - 15 pts in last 23 games
Gionta - 12 pts in last 28 games
We won 12 of our last 20 games
We do need more help but when we were finally healthy and playing together.. we were a pretty solid team on MOST nights. |
