What if it is for something more than they were expecting, and still need to match? Would that complicate plans?

Subban is easily top 5 in the league. Karlsson, Keith, and Doughty are the only D men I would take before him. If this offer from Edm or 4th and Draisaitl was real I would easily trade Risto, 8th, and our 2017 first for him. But he's worth way more.
