if you draft a d man at 8 it'll be a few years before you see him but if you traded it for Hoff, he'll be in the top 6 immediately.

Maybe that rumor about us wanting another 2nd could be to get deal done with ducks without having to move 8. Just a thought as that would make more sense about wanting that other second.

You can only go 10% over. Which is pretty much the exact amount of Datsyuk's contract. Actually his is more, but either way there's no way they could have both at the same time with the guys they still need to sign.

Ennis is pretty damn close without the concussion though, imo. Not the same goal scorer but still gets his points at the same clip

Yesterday our hockey expert Paul Hamilton was atrocious while talking about the draft. I mean not that I expect him to know all the draft prospects but I feel he should at least know the top 10 and while talking about teams taking D he said, "that Russian kid". What has he been doing for preparation the last few months?????!!!!!

I feel the same way about Peter's. Saw him yesterday on Time Warner news on their pre-draft show. He had so little to add that the host said something along the lines of you're not really into thiis are you? He was asked to give his thoughts on a question and every time he had nothing or said he (referring to Kevin Baker) pretty much summed it up. The guy has zero knowledge or opinions about any hockey players yet he's what we get. I'm tired of having c level talent around here when it comes to local sports shows.

You aren't going to get Barrie when the prize coming back is Derrick Poliout.

Not to mention the reason they would trade him is because they don't want to pay big money for a small D man. SO why bring back Poliout?
