Perry and Fowler for 8th overall Ennis and Bailey?
- bluengold12

I miss the days of having guys like Stafford and Ott to trade. I hate giving up guys that I like, although I get that you have to give to get.

I don't think he's going to give up the 8th for Fowler. I would hope.
- 50GinosIn07

Absolutely no reason to give up the 8th for Fowler, make no sense.

If he does he is going to cement a rep that says he will overpay for guys he likes.

I think that was done when he gave up 21 for lehner after the kane trade. Still I dont think he like Fowler as much as he liked those 2

Why why why when we can keep the #8 and sign Vesey and Stamkos?

Yeah, in theory someone would be buying low on Perry. He seemed to be the face of their playoff failure.
- Slump Buster

They sucked ass at the beginning of the season the. Some how made the playoffs. Then sucked in the playoffs. The formula has a flaw.

The reaction the Lehner for 21 deal got is about what 8 for fowler would look like.

Ain't that the truth, Fowler is not Bobby Orr people are making him out to be something that he's not. Maybe the fans like him but the Ducks feel he expendable.

It should be way worse IMO. #21 isn't the lock that #8 should be.

Was half joking mostly because that would never get it done for Anaheim. But say we don't get Stamkos because he resigns (which I'm leaning to believe he will) Then getting Perry would plausibly be a great consolation prize

He's a nice player but he isn't anywhere close to #8 value in this draft.

No they don't I don't know how this point could be anymore clear then previously stated.

They have the best D core in the league they need to give up one to keep their stupid internal budget and Fowler is the oldest (25) out of the bunch with the biggest cap hit. That's why they're trading him.

I like Murray and the moves he's made however, he's just the type of screw ball that would trade the 8th pick for Fowler and then try to justify it as a good move and its not.

I don't think the Fowler for Girgs trade would be that bad, but Murray seriously has little concept of value.

Girgensons value is at an all time low, and he will rebound from this year, while Fowler's value is probably as high as it will be.

If he gives anything more that's not good IMO

Doesn't that kind of mean they think he is expendable based on their criteria of running a team?

I've never thought Girgnesons will be anything other than a bottoms 6 guy, I have yet to see anything that suggests otherwise, IMO anyway.

RoR, Eich, Rein, Kane, Vesey, Stamkos should be the priority on the top 6 this offseason. Bottom 6 we have more than enough.

Girgs, Ennis, Pysyk, Bap, 2016 2nd, 2017 1st, 2017 2nd, other picks and prospects should all be used in securing a defenseman.

Vatanen now has the biggest cap hit. You're trying too hard to defend Fowler. He's ok, an OK top 4 guy. Nothing more. I'm fine with trading for him. But he isn't going to make any all star teams

Wrong they are trading him because they have 2 other D men that want to play over him, if he's that good you move a scrub out like Bieksa and keep a young Fowler. But keep trying to argue about it.

NO It' means they only want to keep a certain amount of money allocated on defense and they have two young studs on defense in Vateren and Lindholm and know each will cost around 8-9 million in cap combined per year. They also Bieska for two more years at 4 million on a no movement clause that they're stuck with. Fowler they didn't want to have to trade but will so they can free up money to get a winger which they need more and are close to the cup

I never said he was that's whats (frank)ed up here. I'm saying exactly what you are. He is a very solid top 4 guy and on our team he's easily on the 1st line (for now)

It's all of you saying he sucks and is average that is making me want to pull my hair out
