Those two years will not cement Darcy's legacy nor should it. The Sabres had very good teams for many years under him ............ and he did it with no money. He knew what he was doing. Half the public hated him because he wouldn't feed their appetite for details and he never gave any away.

Why is it ..... generally speaking, the first thing people always mention when talking about a "great" defenseman is how many points they score? Shouldn't their value as a "great" defenseman actually revolve around how well they play defense?

Yes, what I'm trying to illustrate is the game isn't too much for him at every level he's played at. If for instance he was racking up the points in junior and then when he got to the AHL he fell off the table, that would be disconcerting. He hasn't, he's just chugging along.
