I thought it was Daddy Terbucks... no matter. Stam isn't signing there. No chance. They just don't have the room for it. Very astute observation by Ek to say the team that owns him gets the last crack at him prior to FA.

So it sounds like Tampa is holding his rights, because up until July 1st they can still offer 8 years.

When GM's can talk to agents on Saturday, can they talk specific numbers? Cause if I was Sabres, I would just say north of $10m and not a specific number, thus TB does not know if they can beat it with say an 8th year (total contract numbers).

So looking around other sites, people are saying 8 for Fowler is about even.

If that's true $10 million for 7 years Trumps that. Although there is no state tax in Florida so that would likely necessitate going up to $11-12 million.

one thing to keep in mind is that he would save a mill a year in florida. That said... that dog won't hunt.

Same goes if he goes to Canada. Sure they offer him 10M but with their almost 45-50% tax it really is not that great of a deal.
