Totally. Anyone who's waited all year to reach free agency and test the open market would immediately sign with Buffalo once they acquire their rights instead of waiting one day to see where the offers come from.

Agreed, definitely not worth it. As of midnight tomorrow, he can talk to whomever he wants. I still think he ends up signing with Tampa. $8.5 million/yr, no state taxes, Florida weather and a chance at winning the cup within the next couple of years vs Toronto or Buffalo at $12 million? I know what I would do.

Yes, you can be refused, but after 5yrs, if you didn't commit a serious crime, you are fine. You will not get refused unless you are a wiener.

As for waiver, he paid a one time fee (I think it was about $1500) to a lawyer who got him a document that he can show each time he travels. He has had it for many years now and continues to use it. Just has to show up 2 hours before everyone else at the airport to get vetted. Never been an issue....he also travels quite a bit to Detroit (he is an engineer in the automotive world) for work - never been denied entry.

Yeah when I was an immigration officer we never even spoke to the lawyers. They would try to do their schtick and we would just tell them to go sit down, then deal with their client. They don't like to be told what to do.
