3 days until Stamkos is a ranger.

So, if Stamkos signs with the Rangers, how long do they have to jettison enough money to get under the cap?

Before the 1st game of the reg season.
Edit: but not more than 10% over the cap...

As long as it's a reasonable price, not sure why anyone would be against signing Matt Martin. He is 27 years old, hits everything he sees and scored 10 goals last year.

Word is he's getting 3M per though. That's way too rich for me...

I was unlucky enough to be in Cleveland for the parade, trying to get to the R&R HOF. The lots were charging $60 to park. Fortunately we walked, but couldn't get a bus back. My poor kid was so tired she didn't want to see Flag.

I'm all for signing MM, just not at the price he is predicted to sign for.

So, let's say Stamkos signs on July 1st. Would the Rangers risk going over the cap by 8-10 million without having a few deals in place?

I honestly am thinking is why they haven't made any trades yet. What is the point of clearing out salary if your not gonna get a big fish like Stamkos? If we see more trades closer to Friday then I will believe it
