Anyone else have a feeling this is Lindros year?

We'll see fairly soon, I guess.

I will say this. If you are looking to re-load, rather than rebuild, trading some of your valuable assets for younger players/picks, and then replacing the player in the UFA market isn't a bad path.

I think a big key to the next season is going to be Buch. If they go all in for Stamkos, they will still need another sniper for a winger. We have to hope either Miller, Buch become a legitimate scoring threat on the wing.

Hopefully.

Before the concussions he was the most dominant player in the NHL; at a time where players like Lemieux, Jagr, Sakic, Yzerman, Gretzky, Messier, Forsberg, etc. were all thriving.

I am not convinced they won't keep Nash if they go after Stamkos, but that would of course require significant money to be cut elsewhere.

I also heard somewhere that the Rangers may be interested in acquiring another Russian to easy Buchnevich's acclimation to North America. Don't know who that would be.

Is there a way they can keep Nash and sign Stamkos?

If they move Stepan, and find away to shed either Girardi or Staal, then yes. May have to keep Kreider, Miller and Hayes salary down a little.

Thank god Radulov re-signed in the KHL.

Wonder who that would be. Not many Russian UFA's available.

Yup it would have to be either Staal or Girardi. I would like to see a Stamkos/Nash duo. (frank) all the rest of the Nash haters.

Guy just seems like such a punk. If it was maybe one incident I would have definitely taken the risk. He has a ton of talent.

I think he just one of those guys that likes being home, in Russia. Don't think he gives a damn about playing in the NHL.

I agree, can't hold injuries against the guy. If he wasn't such a douche from the time he was drafted I have a feeling he would already be in easily.

Wasn't there also issues in the KHL with him too? Something with a coach?

Hit a coach with a stick, threw a stick at a ref, went all Kovy and refused to play at one point, guy is just a complete head case.

I thought that was Yakupov, but I may be wrong.

Edit: Seems so based on Mr. Bobby's post.

Yeah. I just want Buchnevich to come here with the same attitude as Kucherov. Every Russian that wants to play in the NHL should read how he did it.

Something tells me Brassard could be moved.

His marketability is likely at his highest and the lefty-righty ratio, on this team, is heavily lefty favored.

Stepan is a perfect second line center while Brassard, although skilled offensively, is not as multi-faceted as Stepan. Plus, Stepan is two years younger.

If they really want Stamkos, Gorton has to make tough decisions but he can't sit on his hands for too much longer.

Yakupov, not a free agent but is available and on the cheap.

Worth the shot.

Although Stepan has been heavily rumored, to be dealt, I think Brassard is the easier player to deal.

I would prefer that in a heartbeat over Stepan. I know Brassard has put up some numbers lately, but how many of them where multi point games and then he would just disappear for games on end. At least with Stepan if he isnt clicking offensively, you know damn well you are getting a great defensive player.

I'm thinking that's all just BS to start a bidding war. If the price was truly a late 2nd/3rd round pick he would be long out of Edmonton already. Who wouldn't take a chance on a guy in his early twenties for a 3rd rounder.
