There is no doubt he's a first round talent. The question is whether anybody can get through to him, whether he can be coached. He's an elite skater. He has an elite shot. The measurable are there. The question is hockey smarts, commitment and coachability, which is why you get a guy with his talent in the 3rd round.

Not trying to hate on the Rangers, because that was a fantastic pick at that spot...but something has to be up for a kid with those talents to fall that far. I get falling into the late first or early second round, but to fall all the way to the mid-third and have nearly every team pass on you multiple times...there's gotta be something to that. Especially when talented defensemen are such a rare commodity in this league.

I am with Matt on this one, Tommen's a female dog. Where does he think he lives, Sweden? poop happens in Westeros.

He likes to eat, not workout and doesn't respond to coaching, allegedly. That's gonna casue you to fall a bit.

Also it was cool to see they hired the kids from the Children of the Corn movies to have a nice cameo

I think it was a great pick, don't get me wrong, but that dude is detined to get popped for driving around with weed, mushrooms and twinkies at some point in his career.

Yeah I saw some of that..but still. Josh Ho-Sang had far more negative attention in the media and still managed to be taken in the late 1st. This kid was only the 4th player ever granted exceptional status in the OHL and fell all the way to the mid-3rd? Something is just off.

But like I said, at the 81st overall pick...there is little risk there. It was a great pick by the Rangers that will be either a home-run or, if he doesn't make it, barely a blip on the negative-radar. Pretty much what the Isles did with Golyshev in the next round.

Ho-Sang was also putting up 80-90 point seasons. If Day had put up a few 50 point seasons he'd have gone higher.

Pens confirm they will not be giving qualifying offer to Justin Schultz (as expected). Will become a UFA.

I wouldn't count the Ranger out of looking at him, got the Wisconsin connections with McD and Stepan, at least until they trade Step

Shockingly a team run by a guy named "Wang" took a flyer on a guy named "Ho-Sang". Same guy also wanted to explore using a sumo wrestler as a goalie.

On Shattenkirk, the Wings were interested, and Holland balked after the Blues asked for Dylan Larkin. Yeah, if that is true, the Blues' GM needs to put down the crack pipe.

I still remember when people on here were building their future line combinations with St. Croix on the 3rd line
