This is totally fathomable. No one has inflated the market more than Terry Pegula during his tenure. This is what happens when you're flashy and flamboyant. I love the Pegula's, but this is a flaw. It's like the guy at the auction who bids high on everything and wears every thing on his sleeve. When it's that predictable it becomes a tool everyone else can use to their benefit.

We aren't the ones in a different blog talking about how a different team sucks... Seeing as your team hasn't won since before our team was created I'd say we're pretty even. So again, what's the goal here? You come in here, ask us if we think Stamkos is coming, we answered, then decide to take shots at our city. Not seeing the path that you're trying to take.

I don't see it as a flaw, it doesn't hurt us in any way. He raises the prices and then they don't come here. That hurts other teams, not us.

Yes it's home but it's not great

So he can be close to home, or he can be home...

No offence to the city of Buffalo (im sure theres lots of good people there) but Toronto is a much better place to live..

I have lived in Both . Toronto was okay . I like the cost of living in Buffalo . Along more grounded people in Buffalo and The ease of getting around. Really love the resurgence of the city now.

Toronto is still a world class city.. Its bigger than Chicago.. Look up any city in North America and you'll find issues with infrastructure.. But id bet my left nut Buffalo is worse than Toronto.

Even if it didn't i think this is about going home. Sometimes it really is that simple.

Is it assumed that Toronto will be trading bigger contracts out, buying players out, and replacing them with entry-level players? They currently have 6.9M in cap space and they need to sign A LOT of players.

How do they offer Stamkos 12M a year?

thats debatable.. especially now that we have Rychel.. Leafs have a much deeper system.. We also have a better goalie now.. most of the other players cancel each other out, but you have no comparable to Marner.

Rychel couldn't even crack the Blue Jackets line up. He's a solid prospect but might never be a good NHL'er. You may have a deeper system but you have no one who's proven anything in the NHL consistently. Marner hasn't played on game in the NHL. You have no Reinhart. And don't try and say Nylander is your Reinhart because they're not even close. Marner could be like Reinhart but has yet to prove anything. You also have no one as good as O'Riley currently Kadri isn't close. You have a better prospect pool but we have good prospects and ones that are all ready proving their worth in the NHL

Which is a loop-hole the NHL needs to close. those contracts should not allowed to be traded, IMO.
