I love Hall, but Doughty makes the Oil better. The drop off from Doughty to their next best defensemen is more significant than the drop off from Hall to JP, or Eberle.

waaaaay to biased of an article.. Taylor Hall for Drew Doughty 1for1 would be absolutely terrible... FOR THE LA KINGS! hall is a great player and any team would love to have him, but drew doughty is a top 2 D in the whole league imo. if not top 2 i find most people have him top 5 and taylor hall is not a top 10 forward in the league.

When you hit your 20s you'll realize its sort of ridiculous (in most cases) to hold stories about someone as a teenager against them. (Also you'll probably learn that most stories are made up by jealous idiots).

The only thing really against Hall is his health (I know he played the full 82 last year) But 4 times in 6 year career he's missed 10+ games with 3 of those being 20+ games.. Doughty has been missed 6 games once, 5 games another and has been in the league two years longer. I agree that Hall is for sure a top 10 talent, maybe top 5, depending on what you are looking for in a winger. But Doughty is a top talent that has won something (and I'm not talking about an award). That kind of deal (IMO, the Oilers have to add, but maybe that's just the defenseman in me) but would be exactly the kind of deal that brings in a solid veteran player that knows how to win and could turn the team around.

And how do you measure performance James? Because I would like to mention that Doughty has performed at every level. He has won two Stanley Cups, 2 Olympic Gold Medals, a WJC Gold medal, and a Norris Trophy among other things. But I would like to hear your opinion on the matter.
