And still wouldn't win because their defense sucks & all the money is tied up in the forward group meaning you won't bring in any help on the blue-line. - newmy
Don't laugh, but I would've acquired Luongo years ago, and drafted a few more goalies along the way. As for defense, well I have a few ideas there ; ). |

You're a Great writer, and I skate enjoy your stuff. but Jesus, Why do u do this ?
My team is about to get torn to pieces after that beaut
- Ihateallofu
I missed that part, thought he said one of the best in the NHL. Even if they all reach their potential The 80s had two teams with better forward groups that I can think of (Calgary/Edmonton), and the 90s (Pittsburgh being one of them) had a few too. |

Appreciate it and you know I can't help myself.
But - if you need some help, look up a hero chart comparison between Crosby and McDavid. Then, get yourself a big binder or try to think about your gramma. |

I will admit I was being a little over the top when I said I wouldn't trade Doughty for Hall. I might not, but it clearly isn't a ridiculous idea. I just exaggerated to make a point and it got a little out of control. - James_Tanner
Sure, I get that. I also don't see LA doing it either. There's just something about big names moving that rarely happens, probably because GM's don't want to be the one trading an Allstar for just above average NHLer. Really, it's about who will start to decline first for me, an injury-prone(I hate using that, because I usually believe injuries are independent acts, not compounding, but sometimes that's the case) LW in Hall, or sturdy, but MANY miles already on himself in Doughty. That question, I don't have an answer for because it could be either. But the value, for me right now, is pretty close. |

In the case of Rinaldo vs Ranger Dangers, I take Rinaldo all day. You are awarded $50 Schrute Bucks, sir. - James_Tanner
I think he'd prefer Stanley Nickles. |

Bourque, who had 4 90 point seasons. But advanced stats weren't around to colour my opinion back then so I don't know who is actually better.
Plus, if Bourque scored 90 points on Boston, would he maybe not have outscored Coffey if he played with Gretzky etc. - James_Tanner
you need advanced stats to help you decide who was a better defenseman when comparing those 2?
forget the stats, who do you thin is the better dman? |

(frank) you sir. What else is an hockey fan supposed to do during the summer whilst bored at work besides wildly speculate what teams could do to improve? |

Just saying they were both playing when I was eight years old, and while I assume Bourque is better, who knows? |

End of the day, if in fact chiarelli is actually considering dealing hall, it's because of the hardball gms are playing with what they see as a desperate guy.
Nuge/ebs etc have solid value, there's no arguing that.
But the other guy knows who's more desperate and they're probably offering clear losses for those two.
So chiarellis forced to consider hall for the piece the oilers desperately need
I still don't believe it'll happen though. |

Fun fact:
The ratio of Stanley Nickles to Schrute Bucks is the same as unicorns to leprechauns |

Bourque's the best d-man I've ever watched/seen.
As for Coffey, he was a treat to watch, especially in Edmonton. I kind've imagine Crosby as what Coffey would've been like if he had played forward. |

Finally, a voice of reason. Too many morons on this site think trading one of the best LW's in the league for a bag of pucks is acceptable. |

You really wouldn't trade Hall straight up for Drew Doughty? |

you do know trades can happen anytime right? I think a lot of us would go outside if we could, but adult things get in the way. |
