I really wish you could add optional years to a contract in the NHL. That would make it so much easier. 2 year deal guaranteed and a 3rd, 4th and 5th all optional from either side. Plus it makes everything more interesting. Will the team pick up player Y's option? Will player X opt out?

Ya know I'm sure I'm in the minority and I know he played very well last year but I'm not sold on giving him a bigger contract and honestly his rebound control at times really scares me. he played awesome in some of the games and others I was not really impressed. Just me though.

What makes you think that? Just because one guy was dealt for him doesn't mean another who you think has the same value would be. The Blue Jackets just drafted Dubois and shocked the hockey world. Puljujarvi was on everyones board at 3 other than the Blue Jackets.

I don't think so either, but I would like to see Reinhart in a center position where he has the opportunity to succeed with good linemates before they jump into the UFA pool.
