For how loud mouthed his family was about this that and the other thing and UFA. Then there were whispers that perhaps Hayes told him it's not that great playing at home in Boston

Now suddenly dead quiet for about 10 days. That sounds more like they could have a deal in place but can't sign him until July 1st any way so why announce it and five other teams a head start in doing a counter move or something.

Just my 2 cents. TM doesn't trade an unconditional 3rd for just a swing at the plate no matter what he says.

They didn't add at the deadline because they thought they had him coming. Pollie thought wrong.

He can sign in Buffalo or Toronto. I think he's putting up 45 points. If he signs in Boston 30-35.

He's 23 and reinhart was 18 in year one. Btw, hope he's better than Reinhart season one as Samson had 0 points in 9 games . 😂

Not sure I see Lucic and Demers as big names but if we want to pull a guy like Stamkos in the future, being a bottom 10 team in the league just isn't going to cut it IMO.

Nope it will not, we just can't seem to get over the hill. In time we might get there but with all Pegula's money we still aren't there yet. you can remodel, have drafts, tournaments, all that stuff that is going on now but it still won't draw big time players here yet.

Players want to play in Edmonton because of McDavid and all the other talent on that team, they aren't lining up to play in Buffalo even with Eichel, ROR and Pegula's money.
I hate to say it but it's true, players are signing with the Panthers....... the Panthers. The team that when you watch there games if it wasn't for the red seats it would look like a grave yard.

Players want to play in Edmonton because of McDavid and all the other talent on that team, they aren't lining up to play in Buffalo even with Eichel, ROR and Pegula's money.

Ray Whitney said not once but twice " i'll retire before I sign in Buffalo ". Matt Cullen said NO to the Sabres 2 times now these guys aren't 40 goal scorers but word get's out about the Sabres from things that have happened in the past and players know it.

We just aren't there yet.............. damn it.

Im not very interested in complaining about how no one signs here. No one has rejected us so far except babcock and that was because of his wife. We ended up getting a coach who has beat him in the finals. Stamkos was never even a UFA and we have signed guys like moulson and gionta who are respected NHLers. We dont need a stamkos every year in free agency. We have a core, just need to sign complimentary guys.

The sad and very (frank)ing frustrating reality is that we are going to have to win a cup before we ever get FA's to pay serious attention to the Sabres

I hate to break the news to you, but we needed Stamkos, you watch the playoffs? complimentary guys are signed when you have the core in place and we don't have that. We won't sniff the playoffs with the roster we have, we needed Stamkos on this team.
