We can't even make the playoffs, we don't have enough fire power.

Im not very interested in complaining about how no one signs here. No one has rejected us so far except babcock and that was because of his wife. We ended up getting a coach who has beat him in the finals. Stamkos was never even a UFA and we have signed guys like moulson and gionta who are respected NHLers. We dont need a stamkos every year in free agency. We have a core, just need to sign complimentary guys.

Disagree, I am fully expecting to make the playoffs this year. Just making it in, but nonetheless, making it.

You will see growth from Risto, Eichel, and Reinhart, that alone is worth a few wins. We were only 6 wins out from a playoff spot.

Not saying he was a stud because obviously it didn't work out but Eherhoff turned down going to NYI to come here Regher waived his no move to come here. We've gotten players before. They didn't turn out that great but we can still get them. It's our first (frank)ing year with Eichel and O'Riley. Hopefully Murray is a smart gm and gets a guy to play in the top six this year we skate into the playoffs and then hopefully teams will take us more seriously. I'm not going to mope because Stamkos chose the only team he's ever been on.

Disagree. Jack, Sam, Risto and ROR can lead this team to the playoffs. Next year remains to be seen, but the whole point of the rebuild was to get quality young players that can lead the team. Stamkos would have been nice but missing out on him is far from breaking the rebuild. Rebuilding takes time.

Well i guess we are waiting eight years then cuz we dont have him. They said eichel would have gone first in every other draft since crosby, including stamkos' draft. We most certainly have a core in Jack, Sam, ROR, Risto with other youngster possibly stepping up. Step away from the edge and look at our roster. We need one D and to fill out the wings.

I know what the roster looks like and we aren't close as of yet.

Not a single one of you even know for sure who we have pitched and been rejected by. And all of those listed were before Pegula, Blysma, ROR, Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, and Nylander.

We were 1 win per month away from the playoffs this year and we only had our starting goalie for about 20 games.

Have some patience. Grow a sack. This team makes the playoffs this year.

That was mine or your argument. My point was I see this team making the playoffs this year, even without moves. They might still be a year or two out from competing for the cup, but this team is talented enough to make the playoffs this year.

I'm not buying this Babcock chose Toronto because his wife either. Everyone argued distance to Buff from Stammer's home wasn't much different than to Toronto. At the end of the day, distance didn't matter to Stamkos anyway.

This...idk what you people don't get. The culture of this team has not changed at all. Sure we have a bit more talent this time, so we may actually win the 1st round of a playoff at some point. But its the race to 8th all over again. And until Murray makes that trade to bring in the BIG talent...or a FA gets drunk enough to sign with us...it will continue to be the race to 8th.

There are a ton of options. We sign Vesey, UFAs include Backes, Okposo, Boedkker, Brouwer. Plenty of trade options too

I do think we could potentially make the playoffs with our current roster, very uncertain, but I think it could be done. With Stamkos out of the picture I'd prefer small, smart value deals over reckless reactionary spending.

Boedker definitely does not stink. He put up 51 points this year and is fast. Okposo can at least skate. Moulson never could.

Weren't you also one of the ones that was sure we were getting Stamkos? Vesey remains to be seen. His options aren't too great in Toronto or Boston
