Bob McKenzie stated several times during the NHL draft that Stamkos wished to be a TBL player and stay. He knows he could get more but he's happy and that's the bottom line...god for him!!!!

Just a thought, Garf: If Vesey held out and did not sign with NSH and wanted to sign elsewhere, why would he sign now with BUF? Even if he does choose BUF, wouldn't it make sense for him to wait until he's a UFA, have multiple teams bid and raise the price, THEN choose the team? Seems to me that GMTM absolutely, completely wasted a 3rd round pick.

I'm extremely opposed to delving into player's personal lives when they don't relate to NHL or team discipline but feel I need to here as the reports I have seen and heard here in St. Louis suggest that Garth is wrong and that Backes only briefly listed his house for sale on June 10, removing it June 13. The reports also suggest that a sale on the house hasn't posted since 2009.

ETA - I confirmed that there have been no actual posted and confirmed sales of the Backes house.
