It's the rumour. With extra peices. - Iggysbff
I just put a rant up about the overwhelming negativity being directed at Adam Larsson. I loved watching this kid play. I understand that as it stands right now it was a lopsided trade, and if NJ gave up a player like Hall i would be losing my crap, but once the reality of the situation sets in and this kid starts putting 22+ minutes a night on the ice, it will lessen the butt soreness. I've been watching NJ hockey for over 30 years, and we've had our share of defensive stalwarts over that time, and i truly believe Larsson is going to be a bonafide shutdown defender. In regards to his lack of offense, i think a huge part of that can be placed at the feet of NJ and their perpetual defense first mentality. It's like Stockholm syndrome. Even when Hynes stepped in and told the defenders to take chances, Larsson had already adopted the legacy Lamoriello mindset of defense first/defense only.
Not trying to justify the trade, but i am genuinely disappointed we lost Lars, because he is going to be one hell of a player. |

If you add Bishop and Stamkos to this past playoff run, do you think that gives TBL the extra victory they needed to beat the Pens? If so, i'm holding on to Bishop for one more run. His ability to handle the puck would have greatly impacted the speedy Pens forecheck, and could have been all the edge TBL needed. - WayneZ
Nope... Stamkos maybe makes the difference but they had very solid goaltending in Vasi.
Biggest issue with Bishop is that twice he was injured in a playoff run situation and they either trade him before the trade deadline or lose him in the expansion draft for nothing. |

I think his ability to limit the Pens dump and chase game would have been a difference maker, but we'll never know. If any team can afford to lose a guy for nothing, its TBL. To your point though, why not get an asset for a guy you're assuredly going to lose. I certainly see him being a top candidate for the expansion draft. |

Hahaha. I was lending my WayneZ name out to banned Ranger's fans whenever they got the boot. I took possession of the account again a few months ago. I probably shouldn't be admitting that on the forum but i'll just plead insanity if the mods come for me. I use to spend 10 hours a day on this site, but it's been a few years. I've missed the mindless banter. Good people on the site. |

That's what I'm saying. Trade him to Dallas for Niemi, a pick/prospect or both. Move on with the two goalies in the system. |

I dont think the difference between Bishop and Vasilevsky enough to change the series...but someone that is bought for the price of Carle and Bishop might be |

Honestly taking all the off-ice away this trade is fair and should help both teams. I talked to a GM who was not involved in the trade yesterday to access the deal and he put it this way:
PK is a 10 out of 10 when he is at his best and he is there about 70% of the time. 70% of the time he is the best defenseman in the NHL. When he isn't at his best his still a solid 7. Shea Weber is a 8.9 and never less than an 8.5.
hahah, what? |

Ek, I don't believe one bit a GM told you that. The Habs just got so much easier to play against. I do not believe there is a worst team in the Atlantic division TBH. |

Don't disagree...and like I said it would absolutely take a bigger package if he did. Merely going over the possibilities based on needs of both teams - uf1910
I can't tell if youre talking about the balls on Jim Nill or what he would target as a return for Kilingberg??? |

Gotta love hockey buzz trade proposals. It's almost an artform. |
