I'd pass. He's going to be 35, has an injury history, and isn't an upgrade over McCabe.

I'd hate to see him dumped before we find out what he truly is.

Best thing to do is keep him with a small contract and play him on the 3rd line. If he plays himself out of that role I'll gladly say I was wrong and we have a good player (like I was with the O'Reilly deal). If not he can be a good 3rd line center. And if he can't even do that it's small money and we can either trade him or lose him then.
