I don't think he was a Top 6 player, I didn't say he was useless. I felt like those teams had enough Hecht type players. I wanted to see one more scorer on the 05/06 and 06/07 teams, I think they'd have gone further. If you put a good solid player like Hecht into your bottom 6 that means you have more firepower up front. Shrug, just one mans opinion.

It can if one player plays heavy minutes and the other doesn't. We all know Risto is knocking on the door of being an elite level offensive defenseman. He was 24th in defensemen scoring last year, but his hero chart sucks. They have him at a low 2nd pairing. How does 24th in scoring jive with low 2nd pairing scoring wise? Because they're all per 60.

It doesn't take into effect when the ice time occurs, PP, PK. Offensive zone starts defensive zone starts, ice time when ahead, behind, tied. All that poop affects a players stats, and when you boil it all down to well this guy has more points per 60 minutes of ice time. It cheapens the whole thing.

It's per 60 minutes. It actually helps identify players who maybe should get more minutes but do not.

Evander Kane's 20 goals and 35 points in 68 games or whatever doesn't look horrible, but considering he played 20 minutes a night, he scored like a lower level 3rd liner.

Same with O'Reilly, at even strength he was not anything spectacular this year

The great thing is you both jumped in late and brought up Landeskog being a more complete player when my initial point was that for points produced, they are the same.

I'm fine with someone saying they like Landeskog because they are a more complete player. That is great, but the end of the day we're talking about paying a guy to put pts on the board and Okposo has done that as well as Landeskog does whether you guys want to hate on it or not.

I was speaking in more general terms. Such and such a survey said... whatever... that's all well and good. But who was surveyed. Was it all in one geographical area? Was the sample size big enough? Was a diverse sample size? And on and on. Numbers are very easily twisted to be able to make your case. And they're numbers and people believe numbers, for some stupid reason. You have to dig deeper to get the real meaning.

Perfect example. We have an election coming up and you can take the same numbers and both sides will use the same numbers and say they're better for them and "(frank) the other guy, have you seen these numbers?" I guarantee it.
