When you don't score 30 goals with JT that's alarming especially when molasses scored how many 30 goal seasons there ..his best year was when he was with Jt the whole year for 27 goals ..
3 20 seasons in eight years and going to pay him $6 million or seven - GERBE!!!75PTS
Moulson's might've had more goals, but Okposo had more points the last 3 seasons than Moulson's 3 best. Okposo only had 6 less points than Johnny Tots last season too. |

mcGinn 4.5
Okposo 6.3 or 6.5 max - bluengold12
I have a feeling McGinn isnt going to get what he thinks hes worth.
What Franson wanted and what he ended up getting last year was quite a difference.
I liked McGinn, but if he ends up on the 3rd line where he belongs, he might not produce like he can in the top 6.
I would say, keep the original offer on the table.
If he gets a better offer, he should take it. |

Whatever I'm not getting into a semantics argument. Vanek inexplicably take so much poop on this board. Was it his contract? That wasn't his fault. Blame Kevin Lowe. "Hey Thomas how's $50M sound?". He'd have been an idiot to turn that down. - Wetbandit1
I'm a huge Vanek fan. I didn't mean to dog him at all so I guess I owe him and you an apology. |

Mediocre? two 20 goal scorers and one who put up more points then anyone on our roster this year isn't mediocre. Give me a break - bluengold12
Yes, mediocre. They would improve our team, no doubt, but that would come back to haunt us. |

Okposo 6.8 I will say
McGinn 4.5 m
Yep I will pass - GERBE!!!75PTS
Don't forget that they offered McGinn 4 yrs 16 mill and he said no, he's not worth more then that IMO. Murray wanted him in the deal for ROR, he wasn't a throw in. |

Jokeposo is a nice player but not at what he's going to get paid. It's going to be a terrible contact that we'll be wishing away after a couple seasons if he gets anywhere near what he wants. Anyone who thinks 20g 55pt player is worth 6-7m a year is . Let someone else overpay and get saddled with that contract. |

Do Sabres fans really want to tie up 6.5M in cap for 6-7 years on a 28yr old whos probably already peaked? We have to resign Eichel and Sam in two years and we still havent resigned Risto. Im not leveraging the Sabres future for an above average UFA. |

You haven't been around, or you have a new handle, or just made an account. Vanek is probably the most bashed former player on the board other than Connolly and maybe Roy. And for really no good reason. That goes for all of them I guess, but especially Vanek. He carried the team for years. |

Me too. Probably the best Dman on the market at this point with Demers likely to go to Edm and Campbell to Chi. But I think he's going to go to a team to win now on the cheap. I predict Dallas. |

It also doesn't mean he gets more than $4M per in FA either though. Just that he wants to see if he can. As is his right. With his back who knows how much longer he'll be able to play? He's going to want to maximize his dollars. |

Our team has room for 6 D to play. At this point our top 4 is decently filled and we have a ton of D prospects who eventually need to play. |

And, generally speaking, FA isn't the way to do that. At the top end anyway. 3rd and 4th liners are usually good finds there and make the most impact per dollar of the FA group. |

Yeah, I've lurked for awhile but new to commenting. I always thought some people were just joking around about him but hard to tell in text.
I think he got a raw deal. In my opinion he shouldn't have been forced to worry so much about playing defense (I'm sure I'll catch flak for that comment) and he got screwed with some garbage linemates. I loved some of the passes he made that our bums couldn't finish.
Also a big Connolly fan, I said earlier he was on the verge of stardom but the concussions cost him.
We probably diverge on Roy, never a huge fan of his. Is he why we weren't good?? No but I'd gladly have traded him sooner and gotten a better #1C |
