The only way that ever happens is if/when Murray is no longer the GM. He can't breathe a word of a player on another team. It's tampering. It's not just conjecture. Chiarelli literally said he wanted a young top 4 D. We only have 1 and his name is Rasmus. It's not really that big a leap to go there since there will never be confirmation one way or the other unless they're somehow UFA at the same time. You just can not talk about players under contract to another team. Period.

A.) How are 99% of them incorrect? Just because it didnt result in a trade doesnt mean thats not what the proposed trade was.

B.) There are paid reporters who work to get the inside scoop on things like this. TSN reporters like Mckenzie are pretty credible and normally report deals before the teams themselves.

C.) I dont understand how I hang my hat on rumors. Theyre rumors because its possibilities of what could happen. I dont take it as the word of god but i look into it to see if it might actually happen.

Not that you said anything about this but just for clarification, some people on these boards including me are either very close to the sabres or have contacts that are So to refute everything you see on this blog just because you didnt see the actual tweets or reports pretty much makes this blog useless to you when you could just be on twitter or contacting people yourself so you can get "correct" rumors.

Trade rumors and a player deciding where he wants to play are completely different. The reporters were mainly reporting on when and with who interviews and meetings were taking place. Also, I never heard Buffalo as the favorite and he didnt even hit free agency so I have no idea what your point is.

If you are Murray and you are looking at the Oilers as a potential trade partner ............ you are quite wise enough to assume (correctly) that the Oil need "D". So if Murray "called" the Oilers inquiring about one of their top forwards and the response was ............ "sure, for your top D-man" ............ you are telling me that Murray basically hung up on them? If that is the case what exactly do you think Murray had in mind when he picked up the phone? Hall for Pysyk ? See it doesn't make sense what you are saying ........

You're the one making faulty assumptions. Who's to say Murray made any assumptions about what Edmonton wanted? And if Murray doesn't make the call you'd be even more up in arms.
