We can agree to disagree. It's just the way he plays. I think for 3 years he'll be fine but it's the last 3 years. If the cap stays the same for the next few years then teams continue to be shedding older player salaries for performance not up to their cap hit.

Yep, history shows us that very physical players decline extremely fast around 30. Might be slightly amusing when Lucic has to use a brain to play.

i see where you're coming from and i don't think we disagree that much. in terms of where lucic's game is and where it's going, we agree.

i just think that no matter what, some gm will always give lucic a chance. a power forward with snarl will always be in demand. in the event of a buyout (we're definitely into long term speculating here), i think some gm would offer him decent money even if they were looking at him as a bottom 6 player for playoffs.

I think I heard on that Dragon's den you charge whatever the market will bear, and as long as someone pays, that is the market price.

30 goal scorer with a better 2 way game than Vrbata. we could have done worse, don't think we could have done much better.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this signing. I wanted Lucic... but I wanted 2011 Lucic and not 2016/17 Lucic. He will screw up... overreact to his new role as "McSorley to his Gretzky" and now he is no longer Lucic but "Lucic to his McDavid". He will get suspended for something, probably a cowardly Ballshot from behind---before Halloween.
