i see where you're coming from and i don't think we disagree that much. in terms of where lucic's game is and where it's going, we agree.

i just think that no matter what, some gm will always give lucic a chance. a power forward with snarl will always be in demand. in the event of a buyout (we're definitely into long term speculating here), i think some gm would offer him decent money even if they were looking at him as a bottom 6 player for playoffs.

Oh I know some stupid old styled GM might do that but with analytics coming more into play maybe in 5 years you'll see less of these after long term contract signings for those players bought out.

My hope was that he would sign here for 1 year plus an option without a no-trade clause...

I think I heard on that Dragon's den you charge whatever the market will bear, and as long as someone pays, that is the market price.
