Inking McCabe to those terms alone was a sweet move for this team. He still has room to grow and if he shows it big time this year he may make Kuli expendable, but either way that deal alone makes today a huge success.

Throw in Okpo-cinco and I think we made out the best of any team today. The guy has almost as many points as Hall for the last 3 years and should be able to keep up with Jack, which is what we all have been asking for. I, for one, can completely ignore any anxiety over Kane or Vesey for now and just enjoy our small victories.

If you land vesey too... I mean not that i want to but I wonder if you make Reinhart a necessary casualty to land that true top pairing guy. Again not a knock on him at all but my belief has always been that this teams offensive struggles are a result of spending way too much time in their own end.

If it was a talent issue they wouldn't have converted on the PP at the rate that they did because as i recall strategically they were a mess most of the time a lot of their goals came from just being more talented then the opposing PK unit.

The number of breakouts or counter attacks/transitions that were missed out on because the d-man couldn't make a clean pass or when he did the forward (and im thinking mostly bottom 6 here) mishandled it or in some cases the d-man just couldn't keep up or skate it out...it drove me nuts.

You're not moving 15 or 90 and the others dont have nearly enough value. But if 23 can get you that defencemen at the right age who does those things...hard move to make but I think you'd have to do it.
