In all seriousness, is the plan to try and be competitive while the Sedin's are in Van? LE was a great pick up but I am not sure Van has the High end talent coming up through the ranks to become a contender afterwords.

I think it's the alternative they are trying to avoid. Unfortunately, average Canucks fans need to be entertained to remain fans. I think Louis helps keep us competitive in he short term while Benning and Linden find alternate solutions to the "tank style" others deem the only option. It's defintely risky to an extent but when we traded for Gudbranson it gave an idea of what they will continue to look for in the coming years. Trading will be the only way they speed up the process and they will need to find talent in guys like Rodin, Etem, Baertschi, Stetcher, Larsen, etc if they want to succeed in doing so.

High risk, high reward retooling. If it doesn't work before the Sedins part ways in what seems like 4 years from now, then Bennings time will be done and a new plan will be established. Some may see it as a waste of time but I see it as an opportunity to change the way teams approach this type of situation.
