I don't know the exact numbers, someone posted it before, but I think after bonuses and everything he'd be looking at 3.25M or so. Correct me if I am wrong. If this is the case, I can't imagine Murray blinks an eye to sign that. I'd have to bet that money isn't the issue here.

One has to wonder who the other teams Vesey is really considering are. The only one that comes to mind is hometown Boston, but they're arguably in worse shape than Buffalo. I'd be surprised to see him turn down the opportunity to play with a friend that's a superstar on a potential playoff team where he'll get a lot of ice time. Who else could possible snag the kid.

Let's just wait and see. It's a holiday weekend. Murray said they had planned to meet with him this coming week. Hopefully that works out, but we can't be focused on what happens until it happens. Right now, we are the only team he can talk to until the 15th if I am not mistaken. Murray needs to focus on solidifying Risto before anything else.

His best player is not Stamkos and it's not Hedman. It's Nikita Kucherov, who is a 23.

This is smart and no matter what Vesey does, Risto is going to be more important to this organization moving forward. I have to stop myself sometimes from getting down on the small losses by avoiding seeing the big gains. We just had a great draft, signed the best FA on the market to a respectable deal and made a huge jump in quality of play last year.

Yeah I understand my question is really what other options could possibly be viable. If he doesn't sign with Nashville, a serious contender, who but Buffalo and maybe Boston could possibly have more to offer. No I don't see Toronto as the place he goes.

Chicago has very limited cap space and I don't see him playing in Top 6 on that squad. So unless he wants to win that badly this early into his career I don't see it.

I think weber is available as a 6/7. He may take a 1 yr contract. Hope we don't get in bidding war with Washington. Nelson can get seasoning in Rochester for a year.
